If it is possible, a system to allow people to sneak around together without having to unstealth around every corner and transition would be awesome.

Whether it is a signal system of some sort (maybe even fitting for each factions, order horns, nature sounds for stewards / stargazers) or a "mutual" ally system that provides massive bonuses against allies only, or a free action tool that can be configured some way with other players, it would certainly help! Even a free action marking tool that can leave temporary placeables, tracks, or something else would be cool.

Mr Howardson

Buy bullets. Place stones on the ground. :)

That said, giving the Wyrm Watcher ability to leave tracks as a general skill for all classes with a certain wilderness survival efuss skill might seem prudent!

Disco

I like this idea.

Edit: But perhaps since stealth is also considdered a form of invisibility on efu. It should not happen.

HoHoHeeHee

A few different types of tracks would also be swell, but even the basics works if someone feels nice enough to grant us this :P

Gotham

The ability to leave "woodsign" as a skill based on wilderness skill would be interesting. They could be used to leave invisible placebles which, depending on WS skill, could relate simple messages in the desc, such as 'Danger' or 'follow'

Blue41

These are some pretty great suggestions.

Adhesive

These are really good suggestions. To go further, naturally Nature-y classes such as Druid and Rangers might be able to follow these tracks in order to stalk or hunt whomever is trapsing around in their backyard, even if they are not in the same faction/alliance. Perhaps similar to the Tracking skill for monsters, it will only show players if they leave those obvious signs.

Paha

This kind stuff has been suggested over and over again. Has not thus happened, and unless someone has willpower and interest to start figuring some magical way for this, I doubt it will.

The tracks can be done already by a Faction IG.

Isn't that kind of the idea of a suggestion forum, Paha? People suggest new things and someone, if they get interest enough, implements it? I'd hardly call it magical. However, as stated, the Wyrm Watchers already have a very similar tool that could simply be given to others, and hopefully modified if someone decides to.

athousandyearsofpain

This seems like a self-serving, bad idea.
I'm pretty sure many, including yourself, has been against this suggestion in the past.
The winds are changing I guess.

HoHoHeeHee

Never seen the suggestion before, and therefore was never against it.

AllMYBudgies

As there is already a system in place for this, I don't think it would be a far leap to imagine it could be implemented for non-faction characters in some way.

I've often played Wilderness based PC's and it is often a bane to spend half of your time wandering through dangerous areas wondering where everyone is. Half of the fun of exploring is lost sending immersion breaking tells ("Sorry lost you" - "Can't find anyone." etc) and with the dawn of the withering, this is inadvertently even more annoying (Spending unnecessarily long in heavily withered areas to find characters in an obviously out of character courtesy)

While there are creative outlets in which to help with this, slightly (leaving bullets/herbs along the route, for example) this is often more trouble than it's worth, and is not always reliable. I don't think this idea is self serving, as it allows for group exploration to be somewhat easier to handle and as such adds a larger level of fun for more than yourself, and as it is already in the module (re:Wyrm Watchers) I'd hardly consider it a bad idea, either.

The Old Hack

Why not implement something like the signal horn for nature characters? Bird calls, insect chirping, the mating bellow of a moose in heat, this kind of thing has been used for a long, long time in the real world by wilderness savvy people. (It might require a certain level of Listen and/or Wilderness Survival to use effectively.)

MirrorMask

The above is an excellent idea. It could be utilized through a player tool made available when reaching a certain level of WS or some other qualifier.
