Extremely low FPS

Hello, NWN is nearly unplayable for me due to my very, very low FPS rate.
I have found no solution for it. It is constantly below 10 FPS unless my PC is alone, and it may even drop to 1-4 FPS in combat. This is unplayable, and I'm losing my patience.

I've tried altering the CPU affinity, updating the drivers, toggling shiny water on/off, and done the same with every in-game setting to no avail.

I've a HP 635 Notebook
*2 GB RAM, (1.6 useable)
*AMD E-450 Processor with Radeon HD Graphics 1.65 GHz

I'm not really a tech savvy, but I heard that it's driver-related and that a specific, old one is required. Help?

Not necessarily, rather, you may need to update your driver. First, we'd need to know what graphic card your notebook has.

What windows do you run?

Go to command parameter, or run function, and write dxdiag into it, and see what information it gives.

Proper processor information.
Then from Display tab on top, name of the graphic card / device there

Have you checked your cpu usage? About a month ago I ended up with a program on my laptop which was cooking my CPU. You wouldn't really notice it doing day to day things, but in game the fps was dropping to about 5, when I checked cpu usage it was at 98%!

Not CPU, as it drifted from 40-50%

Praise to derfo, he fixed it!
Strangely enough, it got remedied by switching to Miles Fast 2D Positional Audio in advanced sound settings, and moving the slider all the way to 2D.
