So there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of consensus on the game system that we should use so far. How about we try looking at some possible scenarios? If anyone has one they'd like to host, I invite them to post it here. In the meantime, here's some ideas I had:

Return to the Underdark: A non-canon depiction of the early days of Sanctuary, featuring NPCs like the Bresleys and the Archibalds.

Archipelago: We could do a game that takes place on one of the unexplored islands in the Archipelago. When that game is over, the survivors could potentially transfer over into EfU:A.

Star Wars: This one has been mentioned by a couple people, and with a couple different systems.

Monster Mash: Open up subraces and make a monster (or evil) based party. FR, or any setting really, would work for this, and any system too.

Survival horror: Survivors of some apocalyptic disaster have to hold out against hordes of enemies while gathering supplies. You could either barricade yourselves, or stay on the move, or whatever.

Any other suggestions?

I  want to play!

How about like a wild west/civil war era setting with magic! I heard of one like that but I forgot what its called.

Jasede

Vampire or AD&D 2.0, those are fairly easy to pick up.

I'll play; because it's LTS.

Return to the Underdark sounds pretty awesome

I have a pretty long design doc relating to a campaign in the early days of Sanctuary. Suffice to say, it is still pretty mired in spoilers and FOIG material even now. Might be difficult to achieve!

You could cut or change things if you liked. I think a lot of people still love the Underdark setting. Besides which, I think with play-by-post you have a lot more freedom to sort of edit what you're going to say, etc.

Sounds like the Stephen King's the Dark Tower.

Okay, here's a question. Would you be more interested in Combat, Politics, Adventure, or Free-form?

Dash

Personally I like twisty turny plots with lots of betrayal and choice of faction alignment/chance for betrayal on our end

Jasede

Adventure, with fairies and werewolves.
Man, werewolves.

SkillFocuspwn

Adventure! Politics and killing, all coated with loot.

I asked TRB. He -may- accept my offer to DM, but maybe not. Does anyone else feel like they have a story they wanna tell/screw-yous they want to give to the players?

Daemonic Daz

Hello Kitty Adventures!

Not sure about setting subject or framework. But I want in!

There's an awesome system called True20 which was adapted from the M&M system as far as I know. It has no inherent setting or genre, and you can roleplay just about anything with it. There are three classes: Warrior, Adept, and Expert, each skill is a class skill and you get one feat per level instead of class abilities - which makes for very open customization of characters.

Despite what is used, I'd be interested in this if I have the time!
