I'm planning now to go for a spider flayer. But I don't want to go down there alone. It's a dark and lonely road to walk all by yourself. So, I'm recruiting crazy guys and gals to join me! I've not apped yet as I'm waiting for some healthy braimstorming to kick the concept up beforehand.

The idea for them is to share a Hive mentality, to not be subtle at all about their goals (enough of shady characters that need to keep hiding their crazy plots), to run around wearing red (I mean, to set the entire server hostile whenever you go for a nice walk around the isles), to be aggressive, territorialist, and mentally wicked (but this doesn't mean to run around PvPing everyone, please be mindful of how delicious is a RP interaction filled by intimidation and promises of ill fates and plagues). They probably will opose themselves against any kind of force that is not the Hive: they'll spit at the Order, wrinkle their nose at H'Bala, throw rocks at the Floating Rock, and try to chocke down the inhabitants of Mistlocke.

They will probably bend from CN to CE. Spider Summoning Theme for casters is a must, of course, and they'll probably worship an aspect of Talona that I love: Sss'thasine'ss (venomous creatures). Of course, this is a dead aspect of the deity (usually worshiped by reptilians) and they won't call her for that name. We might think into a new name to give to the Blightmother, one that suits the group concept better.

A torture, sacrifice, kidnap, stalk per day will be their motto. At least, this is the initial plan. We might don't live a week long to tell the tale, but there is always the chance of lasting long and bringing back the fear for the nasty flayers. So, if you're joining, be prepared to be hunted, hated and feared. Be prepared to fear as well (OOCly speaking, as ICly these crazy hins should not know fear).

Kept by the Brood Keepers into webbing coocons since their early youth, these stargazers walk up from their slumber only now, not knowing anything of Old Ways, of social conduct or basic rules of relationship. They come to be the voice and claws of the hive. They come to serve and give reverence to the only true Power around Ymph: the Brood Keeper Queen.

The Goals

 • Spread the fear around the Isles;
 • Conquer and destroy anything that opposes their power;
 • Ally with these willing to recognize their might and superiority;
 • Recover all relics related to the Stargazer Tribes;
 • Free more three liches or other monstrosities (H'Bala is not enough);
 • Open new spider nests around the isles, the Hive needs more space;
 • Use and devour the nature power for the sake of the hive, not mattering if you're a druid or not, balance is all about the strong to spread and conquer (and you're part of the strong group);
 • others to come...

By Roleplaying a hive mind, I'd imagine.

Well... maybe you can get involved with something related?

well, bobby, the most simple part of it is to make them complete each other sentences. it might be quite random mechanically speaking, but it's quite fun.

another thing is to share a common set of collective character notes, to keep track of each others steps (oocly, not icly, as they probably will not read and write and will need to kidnap scribers from time to time).

I'm sure that there are other ways of doing it, and that's why I've done this thread, to discuss how to make this concept possible.

RP is most the answer for this kind of thing, as FrogWitch has sad.

The Chosen Children

After some weeks thinking and rethinking about the concept, we've reached the following new idea:

We just Wanna to
SETTLE DOWN...

They're a splinter group that left the Brood Flayers in order to build a new Hive, ready to corrupt an already deviant and honestly foul religion into something worse, even bounding it towards H'bala's forces on the process.

Their leader is ambitious and blood thirsty. She thinks the current ways of the Hive to be slow and to lack the proper touch for growth and expansion. They're determined to make the entire Ymph a huge hive, spreading their domains to wherever and whoever would be suitable.

An interesting place to settle down their new hive is the big first important step. Probably somewhere that might generate conflict towards territorial factions would be some interesting choice.

The Hive Needs YOU!

Another goal would be to seek hosters in order to place the ten eggs they robbed from the previous Hive, so to start their new empire. These hosters would have access to their new religion, as they received the "blessing of the Spider Spirit", at least until the spider doesn't come out and devours them.

As Flayers they will have little to none support at all around the isles. So, they will most probably seek aid by force and threatening: hunting, kidnaping and forcing everyone with the appropriate knowledge to "help".

To help the growth of a new queen might be on the process of it also... or to find a new suitable one.

As they grow stronger, they might pursue the wish of destroying the previous hive, eliminating the weaklings that didn't understand them and showing to the isles their might and power.

Escape?
WHO WANTS TO ESCAPE?

In order to make the hive possible, they will probably drawn life force from the nature, feeding upon the living things and creating aberrations that would as well. Their hive would end up being a twisted one, brought into reality with the help of H'Bala or even it could be the thing that would bring her attention towards the group. As Devourers inclined to aid H'Bala, their mere presence in the same place for a long period of time consuming the surrounding life force would bring forth the odd undead plants and animals that please her so much to the area.

WHY!?

The bigger aim is to create around them an aura of fear and angst. This group is meant to be hunted, hated and, if we're lucky, feared. Another good reason for this group is to bring among PCs a bit more of the conflict necessary for the groups in general to move their attention towards H'Bala as a source of interactions and oppositions among PCs of different goals instead of conflicts that move PCs away from the bigger plot of the server.

still looking for aid!
