Quote from: Efu_Executioner;85450I am very against horses, As I have seen them used on PvP arena servers, one time 4 of the 20 players online were using horses, this created terrible lag which in turn ruined the game for many. This is the way I'd see horses.

Pros:

Get to look awesome for absolutely no reason while doing absolutely nothing

Cons:

Lag the majority of the server, which in turn disrupts the enjoyment of others.

Seconded. This is just a feel good way to make yourself feel important. Horses are mostly useless (especially considering the build style of our creator DMs) and make the game less fun for good horse-hating folk like myself.

The only pro i see is jousting, i played the jousting tournies in the bioware module and found it to be simply awsome, but im not even sure if that can be implented in an online server as efu. Aside from that they just look nifty really.

I've never played online with horses, but if they create lag then I'm definitely against it then.

If there aren't (m)any Horses on the island already, and no breeders, there aren't too many ways for them to be acquired.

I'm actually in favor of leaving them solely in the hands of paladins. I'm sure it will result in an increase in paladins for awhile, but eventually it would find its own balance.

Please, no horses for anyone. I would rather quests be added, bugs be fixed, and areas are updated based on PC actions then having the DMs spend hours per day on trying to balance horses, which will ultimately mean they become a laggy, tacky, annoying aesthetic.

Quote from: Snoteye;85264Also, paladins can't summon mounts. We disabled that. And if we didn't, it's a bug that should be reported.

Not a bug methinks.  I believe it was once enabled because it made paladins that leveled to the mount level become invalid or have too many feats or some type of character log-in error from disabling it.  I cannot say if there was something done to make disabling the ability work without running into the problem.  Or at least I think I remembered the original complaint and that was the solution, I think ScottyB might have answered it but I am just guessing from memory months ago.  Maybe I am wrong and making it up who knows!

Snoteye

No, ScottyB disabled the feat. He should have disabled the controlling script. And that reminds me, I seem to recall telling somebody not too long ago to report that this wasn't disabled as expected, but apparently they didn't.

Snoteye

Summon Mount is now disabled.

Horses with DM events in them perhaps? Like a wandering circus or DM jousting events that refuse to sell there horses?
