Without remorse, I'm happy to announce an end to the story of Pebble, but not without a word of appreciation to a great number of players (who shall remain unnamed) whom have made a pretty much base trash 'n go character into something more; something I came to enjoy over my time here.

The story

Once Pebl became an outcast for spreading some foul disease throughout the village after an attempt at a game of BABYBALL with a sickly baby, he found himself with few people to occupy his thoughts with. He became somewhat schizophrenic and started to dialogue with the images that appeared in the Mist from time to time. Level 1 madness!

When the rumor got spread that he died within the Pass of Rabahsna (sp), it became an opportunity for me to push Pebl a little deeper into this slippery slope of madness. A few elements of hearsay, pictures & common knowledge stirred Pebl into actually believing that he had become a Champion of the Mist.

Seven daughters, seven sons. Seven seasons, 'ere she comes. Seven tidings, fear and dread. None dare walk where the Maiden treads inspired me to give a new turn to interpretation.

The idea was there there were seven wilful spirits that controlled the mists from atop their thrones; and each came with its own fictional season (hatred, vengeance, humility, etc. These were mostly based on emotions). In order to ressurect the MIST DRAGON which is the source element behind the Mist itself, all seven spirits needed a Champion to be their vessel. It would mean for the mist to recede and to take form again; giving birth to a mist Dragon that would devour H'bala.

The fictional spirit that Pebble had chosen to Champion was the Season of Vengeance. That choice was predetermined from the getgo, because RAURYK ABERDENN killed the one man Pebble ever cared for: MIDAH RESHER. It would have gotten Rauryk involved in a lot of nonsensical 'plot', so he can consider himself very lucky that he showed to be the superior duelist.

Pebble fled the scene in mistform. Once recovered, I had Pebl make the hard choice of giving himself back to the mist due to his failure in battle. Supposedly, it spawned a number of Mist Monsters on those that came with (with special thanks to LPFF) that kept the tale alive.

Towards the end, I got to really enjoy the scene of several NPCs addressing (in wild frenzy, mind) Pebble as MISTCHILD. I think I left some of the DMs with too little a clue of what in the world was going on Pebl. Lesson learned: keep a jounal!

Maeri. I'll mention your name for being the only benefactor Pebble had (yeah, I won't go so far to call us 'friends', because all of our time spend together was really just super awkward... Not your blame). Thanks!

Everyone else: you've done an amazing job at keeping things alive for this character.

Signing out,

Mistchild

Was amazing to RP with him out in the wilds.  Doubly so now that it is revealed a plot of entirely your own, not a DM sponsored thing. (Well not purely DM sponsored, you turned into Mist..and back..so..heh)  Was a fine end to a bit of a self made legend.

Sorry to say I didn't get to interact with you more, top notch character and excellent plot.

Pebble was pretty scary! Was about the only PC around that Buckbane was scared of. Well played, the Mist thing was a cool twist on the character, well done as usual, Bon! Can't wait to see what comes next

Well goddamn, and I completely thought Pebble actually *was* some champion of the mist! That's one clever revenge plot. I think the people around who are willing to avenge Midah are slowly dwindling :(

Wow, Marion and I actually believed his story :o She was lucky his madness seemed to make him actually a better person! Great char!
