Coming back to EfU after a few months break and running into the new random events, bounties, creature AI and exploration/escort jobs is fantastic. Seriously, it opens up the game to all sorts of concepts that want to go out there and poke the distant reaches of the server rather than quest grind. If you make a professional scout, you can do quite well out of finding these things,  and the both liven up and potentially supply a patrol. I love the fact that randoms seem to give extra non-exploration XP to anyone who bothers to go and look around and RP, rather than just ignoring it as someone looted the place.

More importantly, it adds atmosphere. You don't go from place to place on autopilot. PCs want to divert off to look down that odd passage. You can round up a posse to take the head of that fugitive. You see some Undead Ravens turn up and think "Oh shit, they're on to us!", or panic when a Nightriser beams down. These sort of threats beat the pants off just looking out for vines. The server really feels alive, not just a backdrop for getting from A to B.

I really like the AI behavior when you sneak past and they (I assume) hear you but don't see you. Very realistic and life-like and gets my heart racing every time.

There's so much to explore around the island. Playing a scout character myself, I've been up and down the isle so many times through so many routes, it's like a backyard to me now, and that's just the well known ones! There's still several much more dangerous areas I've barely touched, and so much I've probably never even heard of!

Get out there and explore, people!

Cannot agree enough. It's very exciting to slip past some of the more powerful spawns in the game and have them hear you and follow you around.
