"Improved" items

There are a few items with "lesser" in the name, and that got me thinking. Would it be possible to have "greater" or "improved" versions of these, with more charges, or a slightly enhanced skill bonus as rare drops. It would add more loot variety than "oh look, another one of those" or "great, more trash".

Not improved versions so good as to have people spamming quests for them, but just "hey, that's a bit better than usual. Interesting". Especially if the improved version looked a little different.

Tyrael

Oooh, good idea. So much stuff on quests gets thrown away that could really stand for some improvement.

Howlando

If there's "lesser" it probably means there already is a normal or improved version, you just haven't found it yet.

I have never in the history of EFU:A seen or heard of, say a Jergali Protector, Greater. If it's out there it must be damn rare...
[Plans a Jergal Tombs Questing Frenzy for research purposes.]

Just to clarify, I don't mean the new "battered", "ruined", "beaten with the Fail Stick" gear, but the equipment like Lesser Axe of the Spirits, Lesser Life Reaper and so on. I'm curious as to whether improved versions of those ever existed even in the UD. If so, it means by suggestion's moot and there's some seriously rare gear around.

Perhaps they are reserved as rewards for great deeds?

I have a Jergalite Protector, Lesser, and it is pretty great.
+1 AC, Death +2, Int. +1

A sheild (Presumably Jergalie Greater)with more then that would be quite epic, imho.

Oskar Maxon

I have seen Greater Ratskin Gloves.

Someday, if EfU ever ends, it might be neat to release the module publicly and let people see the full beauty of what was created here.

I really really dislike threads where precise information is given about anything In-Game, whether its about dmquest spoiling, quest spoiling or item spoiling, or minute details spoiling. Stay vague please.

As for improved items, when I created these items, I thought that many some of the items sounded too powerful and that I might, someday, want to drop some as dm-loot for some characters, hence why I put the lesser tag in some of them.

So they exist, and yes, they are rare.

Egon the Monkey

Thanks Mort. Guess that answers it.
