Questing Knight

Well, after a very enjoyable long run he is finally dead.  The idea for Leopold was essentially to play a classic Arthurian style knight within the bounds of EFU.

He came from Damara where he served as a minor knight with a small estate on which he lived with his wife and daughter, the last male in a long line of knights, his arrival on the Ziggurat was one of despair.  Having lost everything, and being forced to abandon his duty he took faith in a quest he believed granted by Siamorphe herself.  To find the Crown of the Divine Right and restore a King of noble birth to the Isles.

I achieved a lot with him, from becoming a watcher, to becoming a knight and striking back at the undead and even finding the crown! (Sort of).  Finally though, the man who was meant to be an infallible bastion of good had to give up his humanity for another.  I unfortunately lack the screenshots of his abberant transformation and his end, but it can pretty much be summed up by his last words "It's better to die a good man, than live as a monster".

My favourite character on EFU thus far, I can only say thanks to all you guys who helped make his story as awesome and fun as it was.  I can't even begin to list all the names involved, it would take all day, but you know who you are.  Now, without further ado, the screenshots! (In no particular order).

Joining the Watchers.

Fighting the child snatching withered druid

Good Cop/Bad Cop.

A showdown with his Arch-Nemesis

Dwarves, disgusted by us mere humans.

One of my favourite characters to interact with, a first meeting with Rastin, the man he couldn't save.

Fighting driders, NAKED.

Making a rather dubious alliance to escape the Underdark.

Facing off against a mad and withered watcher.

The swearing of his oath.

Arise Saer Handelsson, and take up your sword, KNIGHT OF THE KING.

Mamlogo comes to town, the beginning of an epic quest for vegance.

Confront your fears to pass.

The Crown is within reach, but who will take up the mantle of King?

At last, his quest is done, the King is crowned.  All hail King Kasur!

Maybe not...

Thirteen entered, one will leave alive.

Marcail's greatest sacrifice, the Tree is born.

Epic battle scene.

His treasured sword, a blade fit for a Knight.

:( :( :( NOOOOOOOO!
[20:20] <crump> nature's not outright trying to murder everyone there, it's playing gentle, lures everyone into a false sense of security. then it strikes. chicago's weather is the bdsm of nature systems

Your inventory is so disorganized. >.>

We had a few neat interactions, but Leopold and Caerseil never really hit it off. I wish I could do more than say that I wish I could have been around Leopold more, but alas, I cannot. Great PC.

The Old Hack

Rest in peace, Leopold. In spite of their clashes, Kara admired and respected him. Learning that he had become an aberration all but broke her heart.

A masterwork, this time, and one to be long remembered.

Gotham

I hope i'm the one that convinced you to off yourself :D I mean that in the most loving possible way.

tropic

Played with him only once or twice, but it involved a big confrontation with his rival, the Heavily Withered Man and a small army of undead.

Really great PC and, IMO, an example for all would-be heroes.

Leopold was simply amazing. Utterly spectacular. You did a fantastic job with him.

"So what else is on your mind besides 100 proof women, 90 proof whisky, and 14 karat gold?"
"Amigo, you just wrote my epitaph."

"Maybe there's just one revolution.  The good guys against the bad guys.  The question is, who are the good guys?"

Prairial Twenty-Two

I always admire the players who manage to make their PCs a true part of the setting. It's particularly poignant to see two such characters, Rastin and Leopold, in one of the screenshots. Kudos!
