Jemorias Forcest was the self-titled 'Scribe of Mistlocke' and, eventually, the Left-hand and scribe the the Deputy Mayor-- Entoni Zagan.
She was an interesting character to play because, on a very basic level she was rather dull and one-dimensional; "knowledge is good, and good is knowledge". But playing her was quite a trip because every interaction had the chance to sway her understandings on something or the path she went down.
She was fascinated by things that were out of bounds, which might explain why she look such great interest in people like Lars, Rastin and Frankie Stokes. All of whom had so many chances to manipulate her to less savory ends.
She was very low wisdom-- which explained her poor eyesight but it also played into how horrible a judge of character she was. Even in the end, she was calling those who would kill her 'goodly sirs', as though their actions against her played no role in their ability to be 'good' or gentlemen.

My goals with her were;
  • to compile a scholarly article on the effects of Mistlocke on the psychology of its residents. She never got to finish it, but suffice it to say-- it's not great. But she was hopeful and saw great good in people (things like Lars NOT attacking her that day in the woods).
  • Found a public collage within Mistlocke where IC and OOC learning and skill building could occur.
  • Get other people to do dangerous things in her stead.
  • Get caught with something illegal that she had for purely 'scientific reasons'
  • Be in the background of great scenes, writing it all down.
I realized, going through my HUNDREDS of screenshots, that I'm no good at taking them. But here are a few highlights that I was able to capture;

Jem had the chance to interact with a lot of interesting characters such as a brief interlude with the Ringling brothers;

And the self appointed Games Master, who handed out the prize of "A leap off the bridge" when Jem first met him (she later had a very long conversation with him about himself);

Rastin was one of her favorites, though. She sat on the roof of the Old Stones (the first and LAST time Jem ever went through there) when he had first arrived. She was fascinated by his passion, and later by the death that clung to him;

She was also fascinated by Frankie Strokes, who seemed like a nice enough gentleman and she was such an awkward sort of bleeding heart.

Kara Sandvich (hehe) was one of Jem's closest friends, she was one of the very first people to sit down with her and just talk to her about what she was thinking.

She had such a crush on Lars, of all people. He had the chance to attack her in the woods one day, and declined. From then on, Jem was so curious about him and bugged him until he took her to the Conclave for the first time. They had an amazing bit of dialogue, he showed her some secrets and promised to talk to her again. But he was killed before she ever got the chance.

For all of her ability to stand awkwardly in the background scribbling, she got caught up in a few very interesting DM things (a few really fun spiced quests, for instance). She took notes on a couple of investigations, including one to find who had broken a little girl. We met this guy and Jem thought "Eh, shady figure comes out of the woods carrying blades asking about the little boy we're looking for? Gotta be legit." Turns out he was looking to kill the kid, but we got him!

She watched this caravan head off, and never saw it again.

One big feature for Jem was the fact that she died about midway through her stint on the Isles during a DM run quest. This death defined the rest of her experiences and helped her tap directly into the vein of information running through Mistlocke. A description of this encounter can be read http://www.escapefromundeath.com/forums/showpost.php?p=276490&postcount=2

From here on out, Jem was the Left-Hand for Entoni Zagan who gave his arms to return her to life;

After Entoni died, Jem got severely depressed; every one of her friends was dieing around her and so were her chances to learn and understand them.
She then started talking more with Sarisa who nosed out Jem's intent to kill herself. I meant to wait and die with that character around, but things happen.

Instead, she managed to get in contact with Shadowfall, after begging him to let her come speak with him. At first he encouraged her not to, but relented eventually. She was also called there and given the ultimatum of "Join us, or sit in this mean looking chair! Bwahaha!"

What?

Thus ends the Jem and Scribe of Mistlocke, Entoni's Left-Hand.

Sorry I never got involved with her very much.

Aethereal

I was saddened by the fact I could not convince her against suicide. >_<

Though I think Jem's work will live on, in a new form.

:(  Just as I was getting to know her :(
[20:20] <crump> nature's not outright trying to murder everyone there, it's playing gentle, lures everyone into a false sense of security. then it strikes. chicago's weather is the bdsm of nature systems

The Old Hack

I loved Jemorias. Well done. I hope you'll get as much enjoyment from your next character!

Pandip

Jem was definitely one of those characters I intended to interact with more but never quite got the opportunity, and I definitely feel bad for not trying harder!

Ebok

I was one of the first PCs to welcome her in, and the only to walk her down that last road. It was certainly an interesting PC all along the way.

Yanamar

I had so much fun playing with everyone who interacted with her! It was a great run, and I'm glad I got to have it-- thanks to everyone who helped make it happen!

Pup

She was unassuming yet somehow engaging... And God damn it I was planning to buy several wands from Jem...
"So what else is on your mind besides 100 proof women, 90 proof whisky, and 14 karat gold?"
"Amigo, you just wrote my epitaph."
