[Frog Witch]

Oophaga, Stargazer - Neutral Evil - Frog Totem Sorcerer

"Poison is in everything, and no thing is without poison. Only the dose permits something not to be poisonous."

From deep within the sludge ridden, hidden villages within the bogs, Oophaga comes to the Eyrie with a desire to see the terrible withering pushed back from her people. The mysterious, often unsettling presence of a Frog Witch is difficult for some to comprehend, the eerie misunderstanding of her craft causing whispers amongst even the most enlightened of the Eagle Tribe.

Her body covered in strange and magical venoms, Oophaga takes to her alchemical and herbalistic studies ever searching for the secrets found within the very plants. She works tirelessly, seeking the knowledge known to the generations before her that worked this tender and delicate art form. The unusual and exotic, sometimes hideous smells burn day and night from the darkest corners of the forest as she mixes and mashes the reagents needed to see the blighted islands that she loves so dearly restored to their once former glory.

• Has little understanding of morality in view of what must be done.
• Dispassionate and cold, but with a warmth of heart that betrays a deep understanding of feeling.
• Favours spells that are atypical of the fairytale witch.
• Enjoys eating and devouring strange and unusual foods. The more macabre the better.

Cure the Withering through experimentation in Alchemy and Herbalism.

• As a Frog Witch, Oophaga spends much of her time pursuing the craft of Alchemy and Herbalism. With a deep understanding of the esoteric nature found in the wilderness, Oophaga works tirelessly to see the withering unlocked through these mysterious and ancient art forms.
• By dealing with villagers and wildlings alike, Oophaga would barter for reagents and lead others on missions in which to find the rarest and most exotic plants and mysterious items.
• Mastering the craft, Oophaga seeks knowledge at any cost. Caring little for the moral value of others, she would find and procure the information needed to unlock the later stages of her path through whatever means necessary.
• By tending and guarding various hidden gardens, Oophaga would become fierce in her defence of the reagents she requires to continue her craft. Through the use of forum posts and other out of game methods, Oophaga will lay claim to these areas with a view of creating presence of character.

Leaning over her cauldron, Oophaga tends to the plants and rotten remains of the dead as she brings the concoction to the boil. Her work is simple, the craft of the Witch both ancient and inherently unusual, seek the means to end the Withering and break the spell of the undead Maiden now free from the tower.

Gather a Coven of Sorcerers to oppose the Conclave.

• Having a deep hatred of all that the Conclave stands for, Oophaga gathers those magical practitioners that stand for the chaos and beauty of their magic and stands to directly work against the Conclave.
• By finding and working to influence the sorcerous natured spellcasters, Oophaga seeks to undermine the magical control put forth in the desert by the Conclave and be a constant nuisance, a thorn in the side, of whatever projects active conclavists may have.
• Actively hunting the members of the Conclave, either alone or with others, Oophaga would seek to steal magical reagents with which to work in her alchemical studies. Believing the Conclave to hold a great many relics and the like, she would seek to acquire them through violent means.
• Aiding these sorcerers, Oophaga would seek to gain greater power through association. Using them as a means to empower herself, Oophaga would selfishly become the prominent sorcerer through whatever means necessary.

Learning of the cadre of mages that float high above the desert with a mind to control the magical minds of Ymph, Oophaga quickly decides to work against them. Revelling in the chaos of her magic, she searches for those others that would see the Conclave as a binding of their rights, those that see the conclavists as a force that works actively to aid the Maiden however much they protest it. A wound to be treated.

Unlock the power of her Sorcery.

• While a long-term goal, Oophaga would seek the path of the Bloodmage. The epitome of the esoteric and dark Witch, she would acquire knowledge and methods of how to unlock this dangerous and grim path to power.
• Using others, she would acquire the tools and information needed. She would include others in the process by allowing glimpses of information and leading journeys into grim areas of Ymph to unlock the understanding needed for this route to power.
• Through the practice of blood ritual and sacrifice, Oophaga would begin the process of discovering the taste for blood needed to take the step toward becoming a Bloodmage. Sacrificing those that defile the natural order, she would collect their blood and seek to aid the ailing islands in turn.
• With the Stargazer belief in the cannibalistic devouring of the dead, Oophaga would take the step a pace forward. Eating her fallen enemies, she would use the primitive ideal that she would be empowering herself with their energy. Blood and death would become a large part of this character's morality.

More than rumours and dark whispers, the Bloodmage is a reality to many of the villages within the Bogs. The Frog Tribe have a deep understanding of the power of the Sorcerer and it is the pathway toward this dangerous and powerful process that Oophaga seeks to learn of with a mind to empower herself against the darkness, and her rivals.

Frog Totem lore

• Oophaga would be knowledgeable in the history of her tribe. It would be my goal to write and add to the ever growing lore of the Stargazers, hosting mini events that involve exploration and story telling. Getting as many nature characters, trusted and accepted by the Allies of the Zodiac, to hear them.
• Writing and contributing to a journal that documents these stories in full - something for all players to read and hopefully enjoy.

As a player, I particularly enjoy the lore of the Stargazers. It would be my goal to use Oophaga to add to and continue the lore of the Frog Totem and create a grim and dark figure within the bogs of Ymph.[/s]

• In order to complete the task set by Hwufwo, Oophaga must gain four sources of informed wisdom from magical practitioners and wisemen and women not of the collective Stargazer Tribes.

Sources that Oophaga will explore.

Known to be a source of prophetic wisdom, Oophaga would seek Sultri, the Spirit Shepherd with a desire to learn of what will come to pass, what has passed and what currently resides in fate's wisdom. An often silent and curious member of the Unyielding Tribe, Oophaga would implore his desire of fate in her quest.

• Knowing of his location, Oophaga leaves a missive for Sultri, stating her desire to speak with him.
  
• With a keen interest in fate and the fate given to her by blood, her Sorceress' nature, Oophaga would see Sultri as a source of much wisdom and wisdom that would help her in her journey toward the transition into Bloodmage. She would similarly implore his vision to see her fate, should the ritual be completed.
• She would seek to impress him through whatever means he desired, although with one as isolated as Sultri it would be through difficult to obtain means - a source of divination, a magical scroll etc.

Oophaga seeks the wisdom of the Calleach, Hierophant of the Circle of Ymph and one time Elder of Evil. Known for her macabre lust for blood and the wisdom that can be found within it, Oophaga begins the dangerous journey of discovery from this maligned hag.

• Knowing nothing of the Circle's hierarchy, Oophaga must find information on the Calleach from the members of the Stewards.
• Once discovering her presence, Oophaga must find a means of meeting with and impressing the Druidic Hierophant - Blood ritual, Understanding of Bloodmagics.
• Oophaga would search for an Evil presence among the Stewards as a means to empower herself. It would be a natural desire to learn from those who follow the Old Ways, but also those that see a much darker side to them, as she and her fellow Witches do.

[hide=Zuljin Nganga]
While many fear and shun Zuljin for his necromantic passions, Oophaga would see him as a source of Unbalanced wisdom. One that stands between worlds, a darker and more sinister example of the wisdom found within nature and beyond this life. She would seek to discover what he has to offer, perhaps the end of her life that would be the result of the unknown and unpredictable magics that she searches for.

• As a necromancer of obvious power, Oophaga is wary to seek him out as it goes against much of what the Starchildren are told of the Old Ways - however, as a Witch that sees much more than what is obvious to others, she seeks him as a source of powerful wisdom and obvious magical aptitude.
• Perhaps offering herself, should the ritual fail, or a body of some rare and magical creature, Oophaga would ask for the wisdom that Zuljin does not readily give; some shady secret that he holds for no other.
• With Zuljin's maligned presence in the wilderness, Oophaga would run the risk of evoking the ire of the Stewards and her own people in dabbling with this Necromancer - a price she is willing to pay for the ultimate wisdom and eventual power it would lend her.

A curious presence, Muskroot carries much obvious wisdom in his place among the isles. Manipulating the rock and the stone to allow words to be passed through them, his hidden grove beneath Mistlocke and his unusual connection with the Forgotten Forest, he is an obvious source of wisdom to any that would seek it - although, his presence so close to the Hamlet is unnerving for many of the Star.

• Oophaga would run the risk of capture, or worse, should she actively seek out Muskroot. Being so close to the village presents it's own set of dangers, yet oophaga would happily run these risks to garner the wisdom she desires.
• With a hope to understand the world as Muskroot himself does, Oophaga would play to his mysterious side. She would seek that which is hidden with her own knowledge and openly present her ideas to the curious Druid.

• Oophaga is killed during pvp within the Stonehand's Scars, during an attempt to scare the residents of Mistlocke away from the wilderness. As suggested by the Druid Caerseil (Fitzwilliam)
• After the battle is over, Oophaga is resurrected through the use of a scroll by the Fury (Magister) at the behest of Bruka (Mucka), at the cost of Tikiri's (SkillfocusPWN) life.
• As a result, Oophaga is deeply upset that she now once again lives; seeing the act as unnatural and a means of controlling her. She does not believe that she was the right choice, and should one have been revived it should have been Tikiri. Resentful toward Bruka, she begins to distance herself from him.

"Did you expect thanks?"

• Oophaga is killed during pvp within the Stonehand's Scars, during an attempt to scare the residents of Mistlocke away from the wilderness. As suggested by the Druid Caerseil (Fitzwilliam)
• After the battle is over, Oophaga is resurrected through the use of a scroll by the Fury (Magister) at the behest of Bruka (Mucka), at the cost of Tikiri's (SkillfocusPWN) life.
• As a result, Oophaga is deeply upset that she now once again lives; seeing the act as unnatural and a means of controlling her. She does not believe that she was the right choice, and should one have been revived it should have been Tikiri. Resentful toward Bruka, she begins to distance herself from him.

• To draw on Tikiri's wisdom, now lost, Oophaga begins to wear his basic Skull Helmet as a representation of his passing and on as an ever present reminder of his wisdom.

• Oophaga makes contact with Zul'Jiin Nganga, Spirit Caller of the Commune within the bogs on her quest to pursue the path of the Bloodmage.
  
• Zul'jin accepts Oophaga's request for wisdom on the basis that she will bind herself to the commune and become one with their number, he also sets her a task to bring back one of the spirits that lingers within the cave. Keldra.
• She is given a skull with the spirit named Vura bound to it, he was to act as her guide in finding the lost Keldra.
• After finding the lost Keldra within Old Stones, held by a Banite Priestess with a view to use his bound power, Oophaga returns to Zul'Jin to receive her wisdom. A bleak representation of the coming future.
