More Magic Weapon (charges) drops

This is just a general suggestion to add more loot to the module with charges of Magic Weapon, for the following reasons:
  • It's a crucial spell, since random-spawn undead and lycanthropes with DR are common.
  • It's a low-level spell.
  • Most of the items with charges are found at low level. For example, the Brass Amulet comes from a max level 5 quest.
  • For fighter-types at higher levels, the only solution (apart from having a pet wizard or cleric) is a wand, and for pure-class fighters and barbarians, it's no solution at all. Wilderness characters also share this problem, as druids cannot cast it.
  • For a little perspective, potions of strength, Barkskin, and invisibility are very common, and those spells are of a higher level.
These are just a couple reasons I see to support the suggestions. If there are balancing issues that I'm not getting, please disregard me as appropriate.

Shield and Magic Weapon are particularly powerful spells in the setting, no matter their circle level.

Druids aren't entirely screwed. They can use summons and animal companions, cast magic fang, and then use themselves as the tank while the others tear it up.

I do believe you can adventure into the wild world of alchemy and herbalism for similar results. And divine wand crafters for druids or rangers aren't all that hard to find, in my experience.

As for Fighters, I generally consider this one of their few downsides. Coming from a person that played a wilderness pure fighter for many months, I can tell you that fighters are more then capable of crushing DR if they are strength based.

Still perhaps the suggestion has merit, I just personally have never encountered any seriously impassable fights. At least, without a handy invis potion readied for those just in case RUN AWAY moments.

I do, personally, find the rarity of magic weapon charge items to be a bit a low for how often you need them. Especially with the frequency of dispels.

I just figured it was intended to be near non-existent as a consumable drop.

Magic weapon is not affected by dispels. Unless it was fixed recently.

I would also point out that the effect of Blur or anything that gives DR on a druid causes their claw weapon to pierce the same amount of DR (so +1 DR for blur, +5 for stoneskin) while in animal shape.
