Oxen for Fur trade quest to Sis Liman

Last night i decided to try something new, by taking on a shipment of furs from Mistlocke to Sis Liman, along with the normally done patrol route that is becoming common. After paying 400 gold for the oxen, i had little problems getting him under  guard to the desert barrier, and the 1st set of stairs down. Thats where it all came undone.  The ox would not transition through the first steps.  I walked back and forth several times, ensuring he was right at the transition, but he would not follow. I tried /c recall  which also didnt work. Finally, it was thought that the ox would transition with us when we went to the next area. To my chagrin.. it made the ox vanish, along with my 400 gold with the message i had gotten too far from my ox and had let go of the reins.

This just happened to me. The ox disappeared on the transition into Sis Liman, leaving me out 400 gold. The reins item in my inventory also disappeared.

This happens often. Basically, keep spamming the Follow command, and if you need to get it down some stairs, use the Control Companion tool to manually guide it around an obstacle.

In my experience, this is an unfortunate byproduct of the path-finding of an old game. :(
