Lower the DR of barricades and barriers in low level quests

While all these criticisms of my suggestion are true, the only thing my post really boiled down to was: There is an element that make some lowest level, introductionary quests basically impossible to complete for some groups for completely mechanical reasons. This is not fun.

Note that I am not saying anything about any other barricades or obstacles than those found specifically on these lowest level quests. I think barricades, generally, are fine just the way they are, for all the reasons mentioned. I am not suggesting a general implementation of being able to tumble over barricades, carry them away or easily destroyed. This only concerns the specific instance I have mentioned, of the lowest level quests.

The Old Hack

I thought that making it possible to burn these barricades with fire would do just that. Those classes you are thinking of should all be able to either get a fire spell or cantrip or failing that, at least alchemical fire.

Nuclear Catastrophe

Thing is - barricades are already vulnerable to fire.  They don't get DR against fire.  Not sure they've got any vulnerability - they might.  We could put some fire vulnerability on to the barricades if there isn't any already there, for instance, 100% damage vulnerability.  Might make fireball a little more worthwhile taking for a PvE quest as well.

But pop an alchemist fire on your dagger and you'll get through that durn barricade eventually, 1-4 fire damage at a time :)

Relinquish

Oddly enough these barricades have resistance to divine damage, magical damage. As learned through divine might/certain bard songs.
