A way to remove Withering outside paying gold coins

Currently for character outside Mistlocke, you have very few options to remove Withering and withering accumulates quite fast if you dont spend any of your game time in the forgotten forest.

Another mean of removing the Withering would be welcomed. I get it's nice to force me to roleplay the curse with other characters and have my character beg them to help me remove the withering, but I just think another way when there isn't a lot of other PCs around would be good. Something that doesn't rely on gold coins.

I suggested this awhile back. No dm was particularly interested.

In the last week i've done 5 sendings about free withering cures, done at a ritual.  I got 1 person to show up at one of them, and none at any other.

There are plenty of clerics out there who would be delighted to treat you for no gold, only for a specific task done for their god(rp fun!) or nothing at all.  I think people should take advantage of the clerics we have more, before we add any new methods to treat it.

There are also many consumables around which have the ability to undo the Withering. I will not spoil what they are, but they are not incredibly rare.

Stop offering alternatives to a completely viable suggestion! Herbs from gathering quests SHOULD be used to reduce withering for wilderness PCs. <_> not 300 gold!

Arch Rogue

I don't really agree with this suggestion at all.

The only characters that this suggestion would benefit are exiles/bandits/monsters etc, and its better if these characters portray the withering and start intimidating people or attacking them recklessly in desperate attempts to reverse the syndrome.

I don't really see the problem with the way it is currently. If nothing else, the withering provides a great device to force extremely wilderness-stalky PC's into interacting with other PC's and more town-bound PC's more regularly.

I would say this is something more to be pursued IG. I'm sure, if you went after it hard enough you could find ways to help with the withering, if not defeat it. Maybe you discover a rare crystal that can subdue the withering temporarily. Maybe you find a pool that is concentrated mist vapors.

This doesn't seem like the kind of thing the DM's should just provide because it's inconvenient. Afterall, the withering isn't supposed to be terrible convenient for us. It is a curse afterall.

Unless druids have remove curse as one of their spells, I'm for this. It makes more sense for the guy who gives out the anti-withering tea to do so in return for semi-rare reagents that can be found about the isle, rather than just gold. Druid folk don't really like gold all that much, after all. Make it like those halflings that give away cool goodies in return for things like meat and icedust crystals. Except more nature based.

It won't hurt anything. Exile camp probably doesn't except monsterous races, and if the bandit is notorious enough, not the bandit either.

Again, it wouldn't hurt anything.
