So, a little idea of mine...

Okay, EfU, this is possibly the dumbest yet coolest idea I've cooked up in awhile. I have been, and always will be a fan of body art (primarily tattoos).

I feel like, as a legit nerd of epic proportion, I must display my faith to D&D on my body, but wait... that's lame, so I decided to take it to the next level. I am debating whether of not I should get an EfU tattoo - & yes, I am serious.

If you feel as though you wish to convince me not to do this, be my guest, but for those of you who might find humor in this, enjoy a proper chance to troll, or strangely find it cool, help me think up some great pieces to immortalize my EfU experience.

I am looking for anything that represents EfU whole-heartedly. I mean anything. It could be H'bala, an ode to Stygians or Sons of Sabuth, the floating enclave of the Transcendents - again, I mean anything.

If one of you crazy artists have the urge to draw something up, again, be my guest.

So... any ideas, EfU?

Hmm, I've almost gotten a Tatt of one of my characters, but in the end haven't.  Not saying I won't, but just haven't as of yet.
(yes I have three tatt's now so it's not because I'm afraid of them.)

This is what I almost got.

Maybe someday, when I have all the others I want first.

Unfortunately, I'm not Chinese. I can't get a dragon tattooed on me. :( If it drawn up looked really great, I might consider it.

:(  I'm not Oriental either and I have one.

I must urge you to consider what you will be telling people about the tattoo in alot of years time when EFU is not as big a part of your life as it is now. Getting a tattoo that represents something, is the sole reason (i believe) to get one in the first place. However, you might want to get one that while it represents EFU right now, you can think of it as representing something else in the future.

Give it some thought: "What do i tell my children" tends to be a good question to ask yourself.

Iron Oligarch

"DangerousDan" on your butt.

I think an illithid could make a wicked motive for a tatto. It could even pass as a Black Dahlia Murder one if you're a closet nerd. >_>

That said, it represents perhaps the Underdark portion of our server most. Are you after something from EfU:A/EfU:M? Got to give that some thought if so.

Thunder Bird

If I was to get a EFU tattoo I think I would focus on the various villians of the server PC and NPC for some gnarly and sick ink. Undead, Lycan, Beholders, Illithids, and Drow with some sick fill in would make either a great sleeve project, back project, or chest piece.

I would try to consider where it is you want it to be done on your body. What do you want it to remind you of when you see it. What do you want people to see and ask questions about.

Also picking out a tattoo artist that can envision what you want and are trying to communicate to him/her is -key- to getting a brillant and stunning tattoo. Please for the love of god don't just pick a tattoo shop out of the phone book, and go "today is the day! Tattoo or bust!" Research your tattoo artist, look at his work and try to notice if he or she tattoos in the style you want. If a tattoo artist does mainly traditional and you want something more graphic horror, I would suggest picking some one else. A tattoo artist is going to feel more comfortable doing a tattoo in their style then something other then what they are use too.

Also my personal belief on tattoos is, "Go big or go home." If you're not willing to shell out the money for a tattoo then don't even bother. That hundred dollar good idea at the time, is going to become that hundred dollar eye sore in no time flat. Expect to pay some serious cash for a good tattoo, especially if you're picking a respected and well versed tattoo artist in the community.

My idea behind the tattoo is to represent EfU as well as D&D. I was introduced to D&D when I was twelve, and it hasn't gotten dull since. Plus, a lot of it's creatures & gods really appeal to me since I really enjoy fantasy style movies/games/books.

I am not worried about all the questions people will ask me, because it will be a rather simple answer... "It's dungeons & dragons dude."

Thunderbird, thank you for the advice. I already have a tattoo artist in mind that has done some amazing tattoo work on my friend's. His art is very clean, crisp, & colorful.

Get a pair of eyes on your shoulder, and in the irises put the word death.
