Let me tell you about Aurelie Carmine

Apologies in advance for Photobucket butchering the compression on some of the images and making them difficult to read!

Aurelie Carmine was a simple concept: a Numinous Order PC designed to examine and experience the act of religious conversion in the EFUM setting. She would start off as a Sunite who, after experiencing an emotionally and mentally traumatic event, look to other faiths to ease the pain and/or fill the void that marked her mortal soul.

Of course, this being EFU, nothing quite ever happens as intended.

Anyhow. There's a lot about Aurelie for me to talk about but I'm not really sure how to organize it all. Here I try anyways.

The Order:
[/size]

Aurelie was a staunch believer in fighting the good fight against H'bala. That was the impetus for her decision to join the Order.

Here the Order arrives in Mistlock:

Here's Aurelie acknowledging the Three and One in a ceremony at the Lake of Mist:

Here's Aurelie being inducted into the ranks of the Footmen:

Being the Order meant you got to meet cool people. Like the people who want to take over Mistlocke:

Politics:
[/size]

Aurelie was designed to be a very "friendly" PC in terms of politics. Make friends with everyone, deal with all issues diplomatically, avoid open conflict where possible Here, Aurelie's trying to mediate an argument between the stargazer Otoah and Roberts Cain, member of the Society of the Shining Hammer.

Friends:
[/size]

Aurelie was quick to make friends. Aunt Mina was one who, unfortunately, she didn't see more than once:

Aniriel got to know Aurelie early on and the two remained good friends:

Aidan and Tiberius were Aurelie's closest pals in the Footmen:

And then, of course, there's Abigail:

And there was also Caoimhe Leigh. One of the coolest things I have ever seen set up by a PC was a "re-enactment", with the roles filled by other players, including Aurelie as the "villain":

I couldn't think of a good place to put this image so it's going here. As a professional warrior, Aurelie wasn't impressed by these two silly men slapping each other pathetically:

Backstory:[/size][/b]
Some of you might have noticed that in her early days in Mistlocke, Aurelie would fidget with a ring:

This was her wedding ring. The reason she fidgeted with it so much was because it was tied to a lot of emotional baggage as it was the last and only connection to her unfaithful husband. Just how close a friend Abigail is evident here as Aurelie opens up for the first time about the emotional trauma of her past:

Another PC Aurelie spoke to in regards to her past was Caoimhe Leigh, Priestess of Sune:

As a bit of a joke, Aurelie commissioned Abigail to write a song that rhymed the un-rhymable word "orange". Abigail created this song. Aurelie's reaction:

Eventually, with the help of Abigail, Caoimhe, some others, and the thing that heals all wounds--time--Aurelie got over her unfaithful husband and the ring:

Abigail challenged Aurelie to a prank and these twenty love letters were the result. Abigail and Caoimhe pranked back with unfortunate results. Old wounds can re-open, intentionally or otherwise:

Descent into Evil (and maybe some Madness):[/size][/b]

Oh, first of all. Caoimhe died. Absolutely tragic in numerous ways:

So. Some of you may have heard that Aurelie Carmine died when she helped everybody's favourite Conclavist elven wizard Amadeus. This is true. She did die, but she came back! What she lost and what she became throughout the entire process, however, just barely got off the ground.

Selfless, loyal, dedicated Aurelie makes a tragic sacrifice. And the result? Well...

Dun dun DUUUUUUN!

So, what happened exactly to Aurelie? She became possessed by an evil Unseelie spirit! What does that mean? Good question: here's the Unseelie code:

Quote- All forms of change are good and must be sought.
- All forms of honor are lies. Never honor any deal, contract or promises.
- Passion before duty. Indulge in pleasure and gluttonous feasts which is your connection to your fae self. Enjoy every moment of life, especially if it leads others to ruin.
- Acquire and steal the Glamour of others (their beauty and style) to build your own.

How does this translate for Aurelie? She pretty much goes chaotic evil. Slowly.

Like, for example, getting into a brawl in the Mist's End Tavern with Amadeus and, my favourite, slapping Aidan across the face cause he said some harsh words to Abigail:

After these violent outbursts, Aidan and Tiberius talk with Aurelie to figure out what the hells is going on. Sorry to say, Aurelie just faked good will to get out of talking with those sappy two guys:

It didn't stop there. The Unseelie Spirit, Fellatrixies, was having a grand old time in the material plane. Readers of Aurelie's Journal can see Fellatrixies screwing around both subtly and obviously. As all change is good, Aurelie started calling herself Aurie. She also became a habitual vandaliser.

What else did Aurie Fellatrixes do? Let's see... Oh: animal cruelty:

Stealing from the dead:

And, my favourite, drunken debauchery!

Ultimately, Aurie Fellatrixies, was going to spread suffering and chaos, particularly to those who escaped the Unseelie alive while she lost both her life and her freedom. Most especially, however, she planned to crush and destroy the soul of the very person she set free with her sacrifice: Abigail...

Sadly, the plans to do just that are in Aurelie's Personal Character Notes thread. And there they shall remain.

Thanks:[/size][/b]

This is going to be a simple list. But I need to write it out because Aurelie Carmine has been the most satisfying, the funnest, the saddest, and the craziest character I have ever played on EFU throughout all of it's many years, and I want to acknowledge everyone who's been a part of it.

The DM Team.
The concept for Aurelie actually went through a few different phases before I finally settled on what she ended up being. Thanks to their help for figuring out the best way to get the concept working.

Special Thanks to Mort.
For throwing the Unseelie possession curve ball. It would have been amazing, one way or another, but I can only apologize for getting myself killed before more of it came to fruition.

TakenByUndeath (Aidan O'Connell) and Harbringer (Tiberius Istul).
Convenient play times made it easy for our three Footmen buddies to interact but I enjoyed every minute of the RP, questing, and overall Numinous Order representing.

Meow-mix (Caoimhe Leigh).
I honestly didn't know how Aurelie was going to get through the whole conversion from Sune to Torm as I had originally planned. But Caoimhe but it to stop. She gave me both IC and OOC perspective on how religion and faith can play a role in a PCs life. Caoimhe was also simply a blast to play with.

Capricious (Abigail Nightal).
Aurie Fellatrixies plans to destroy Abigail Nightal would have been fun to pursue but every and all the moments before that were just as fun, fulfilling, and enjoyable. I'm sorry I can't be around to help with the Valkyries, best of luck with it. Again, I can only apologize for being an idiot in combat.

Everyone else.
You make this server what it is. Thanks.

I don't know what I'm going to do now. I had a bunch of other concepts in mind, stewing on the back burner. But after this ride, I think I might need a little break. Give Catherine a whirl, or something, like that. But, either way, sooner or later, I'll be rolling up another one.

Loved the character.

TakenbyUndeath

Stupendous character. I am glad I didn't have to kill her. lol

Harbinger

Good show! She will be missed.

TurboTax

I wanted to be harassed more. Thanks a lot for leaving.

Aethereal

Awwww. Now who's going to write graffiti to incite melodic screaming into the heads of Mistlocke's citizens?

I didn't see particularly much of Aurelie before the Feywilds event, but I regret not getting the chance for them to speak after her conversion to Fellatrixies. Mostly thanks to Aurelie picking on Amadeus all the time... :(

It is good to see you had so much fun with the character though!

It is through Art, and through Art only, that we can realise our perfection.

Tarnished_Tulip

She was just.... Wow... I enjoyed her alot... She was well played, well rounded off with adventurer and every-day personalia... She was not only a quest-crushing PC like so many are, but she was an inhabitant of mistlocke... She was inspiration to the point where I'd log on because i saw her in the playerlist.

Well done. Sad to see her go.

The Old Hack

As usual, a masterpiece.

May you find much inspiration for and happiness with the next one.

Canzah

Seemed like an excellent character, though we never had much interaction.

AllMYBudgies

I only met her once, but it was magical. Looks like you've done it again Caster. A fantastic concept and a wonderfully involving character.

Good luck with your next.
