A few changes to help gardening/herbalism

Perhaps some of these gardening issues could be solved IG/IC by working toward establishing a garden area in or near Mistlocke.  Perhaps working with town government (the mayor) and other like minded PCs and Factions sympathetic to advancing agriculture on the server. NPC guards may be able to be hired with time to protect the plants from over harvesting.  Similarity such could be established in area where nature PCs spawn/ congregate.

The placeables don't stop the herbs from being taken. That isn't the intention. Its to show who its being taken from and promote a response by the raider. Going after rent-able farm squares however, that is essentially PvP; might even have an npc nearby. Depend on how the Dms want to do it, if they do.

Unless you have 20 PC's from different timezones working together to guard a single garden, your chances of catching someone in the act are slim to none.  Seems like there would be something that could be done about it, especially with the lack of seeds right now.

If there are NPCs near the garden and a DM is needed to oversee the herbs being stolen, that could solve the problem: and create a new one, DMs won't be happy to hear every request of people trying to steal every couple hours.

If there are no NPCs arround, it won't do a thing. The Raider won't be giving away who he is with any sort of IC clue, because he can choose not to, and thus avoid being bothered at all, if you find him through his forum account, that is metagaming, and theres the chance (chance? more like guarantee) he/she won't make a post. Not all players think that is a good idea, and some are not as good roleplayers. Plus, they make a post and... who cares? if they are in a timezone you can't acces you're screwed anyway.

A way of summoing something to guard X area sounds better. And has some other cool aplications, as you can visibly lay claim not just to gardens, but areas, you can also protect roads, etc.
