Garem

My friends and fellow storytellers, it is with great respect, humility, joy, grief, and gratitude that I write what is to be my final post.

What an incredible ride it has been! In 2005, back when we were hunting rothes and fearing the drow and a haste potion was a free win in PvP... times have changed! I loved EfU then, and I love it now. The story, the development team, and especially the community have all been a fantastic part of my life since I joined in late high school, November of 2005.

Thank you. Rock on. Keep up the awesome!

Although the small details of the stories may fade slowly from my memory, I will never forget the joy and fellowship of this peculiar little group as we've told our stories of heroism, villainy, and the intricate interplay of interesting characters as they touch and affect one another.

But now, law school and my professional life must begin and the stark reality is that I can never put forward enough time towards EfU in order to play the game with any sort of satisfaction without severely distracting me from where I need to focus my life and energy. Do not mistake this is an insult, for in my mind it simply reminds me of the dedication it takes to make such stories that every player here must make. I applaud you all for such.

There are scores of people that I would like to thank, but my memory would be unable to recall them all. A community thank you to all players must suffice.

As for the DMs, I likewise give a communal thank you. I look through the list and not a single one of you did not play a significant role, as a player or a DM, in magnifying the fun and depth of the stories we told. None of this is possible without your hard work, creating and altering the world, driving plots, and giving us that spark of creativity to incite our own drive to create awesome stories.

However, the one individual I cannot refrain from individual gratitude is Howland. You put up with the bad, promote the positive, and make everything about this game/story better. Day in, day out, year after year. I know you don't like too much complimenting, so I'll refrain for your sake. But seriously, thank you so much for enriching my life with your awesome story and hard work. I wish you all the best, my friend.

But now I have to go. I hope some day to reconnect somehow, or to see a long series of books on a bookshelf by a familiar title and a familiar name! Take care my friends, and I wish you all a fine and joyous story to your own lives as we part.

Fondest farewell,

Brandon W.

Good luck and best wishes :)  I'm quite sure you'll kick as much ass as you always have.  You'll be missed :(
[20:20] <crump> nature's not outright trying to murder everyone there, it's playing gentle, lures everyone into a false sense of security. then it strikes. chicago's weather is the bdsm of nature systems

Rock on Garem. Rock on.

A pleasure RPing with you! I've always enjoyed talking Science with you, even though your work in biomolecules doesn't mesh so easily with the ever-dear-to-my-heart point group symmetry of inorganic chemistry. So have fun. Nerd. :)

Thanks for the fun times, Garem. Take good care of yourselves, and don't let the grown-up life get you too much.

Good luck in the future Garem. We never really got to play at the same times much, to my loss.
