Queen to the misty isles
Who does fight war for our freedom
Against murderous Count
ii. Ixpadia the one true heir
Surrounded in the Docks
Gathers lieutenants to her tent
To make known her bold plan

[Curtain rises. Ixpadia, Grouse and Sarrasan stand over a table, examining  a large map of the Shrouded isles]

Grouse
iii. The situation grim I'd say
We are now entrenched
Within these colony docks
They can starve us out

Sarrasan
iv. We must consider surrender!

Sabuth
v. Never! The people must be freed
For as the cruel Count reigns
So shall I lift my blade against
Tyranny will not stand
vi. All is not lost my officers
For I have hatched a plan
Which will bring an end to the war
And victory for us
vii. Boldly we will charge the Old Port
And drive them to last gate
Then with fire barrels in place
We will seal them below

Grouse
viii. It just might be crazy enough
For us to pull it off
You know my blade won't leave your side
Not matter of outcome

Sabuth
ix. Please inform the men Sarrasan
But stay a moment Grouse

[Sarrasan exits. Ixpadia and Grouse embrace each other.]

Sabuth
x. Grouse my love, I know you are true
Know I am true to you

Grouse
xi. I know it Ixpadia

Sabuth
xii. There is something that you must know
Within me new life grows
A son and true heir to the crown
And you will be father

Grouse
xiii. My Queen, I know not what to say...
I am in ecstasy

Sabuth
xiv. Shh, save your words for after
Joy must wait for freedom

[curtain]

ActII

Chorus
i. Metal clashes, steel against steel
Old Port painted blood red
Within melee, Sabuth commands
Fighting passion at head
ii. See how she fights for us they scream
Ixpadia will win!
Pour into the streets her armies
Old Port is finally theirs

[Sabuth stands atop the plaza center, Grouse behind her.]

Sabuth
iii. [addressing the audience.] Onward freedom fighters onward!
Drive them to the Last Gate
Victory is within our grasp
Onward fight to the last!

Grouse
iv. We have done it, watch how they flee
At Gate we seal them in

[Grouse and Sabuth embrace. He leaves a hand on her stomach]

Sabuth
v. See to the men for one more push
And victory soon after

[Grouse departs, Sarrasan enters.]

Sarrassan
vi. My queen, you look completely worn
I hear you slay fifty
We are poised to win this battle
We need you full of strength

Sabuth
vii. My passion for freeing the slaves
Does always keep me strong
I would slay a million tyrants
None could escape my blade

Sarrassan
viii. I have no doubt of this my Queen
But take a drink of this
It will strengthen your will further
For the final battle

[Sabuth takes the canteen and drinks from it deeply. After a few moments she begins to sway.]

Sabuth
ix. I....I....feel strange.

Sarrasan
x. Stupid wench, you have lost the war
That water brings slumber
I laced it with wormwood poison
To steal you while you sleep

Sabuth
xi. Why Sarrasan? Why betray me?

Sarrasan
xii. The Count deeper pockets then thou
Freedom has no profit

[Sabuth collaspes and Sarrasan steals her away. Curtain]

Act III

Chorus
i. Short victory, so quickly lost
The queen betrayed from in
Treachery, the dreams freedom cost
Poisoned by Sarrasan
ii. Before the Count stand Queen Sabuth
Still brave and strong and true
The Evil Count eye fixed on her
Scheming on what to do

[curtain rises. The count brandishing a club is pacing smugly around the chained Sabuth, who stares coldly into his eyes]

Count
iii. Shall I have you boiled alive?
And eaten by my pigs?
Freedom, so close to beating me
But evil always wins

Sabuth
iv. If you slay me now, filthy dog
I die still knowing this
The fight for freedom will not end
This war just now begins

[the count touches her gently with the club, rubbing her arm. Sabuth turns away]

Count
v. I remember when we were young
How much I loved thee so
And still I look upon your lips
my heart beats like drum
vi. Give me your hand, I will forgive
This silly little war
Countess of Port, mother my sons
The heirs to all there is

Sabuth
vii. NEVER!

[the count strikes her, Sabuth falls to the ground. She struggles to her feat and spits blood into the Count's face]

Count
viii. Stupid bitch! I offer a way out
I will take what I want
Your virtue my commodity
A slave now to my will!

[the Count violently strips her naked. Then the Count tries to kiss her. Sabuth turns away from his lips. The Count strikes her hard in the face. Sabuth falls to the ground and begins to cry. The Count pauses.]

Count
ix. You fucking witch, stow your tears
It pangs me from within
As though some spell comes over me
Feelings of my conscience

Sabuth
x. I'll shed a tear for every slave
For all pain you cause them
I'll shed a tear for every day
Suffered under your thumb
xi. Its for them I cry, not myself
And if my tears bring pain
Let them not suffer tyranny
Set them free, set them free!

[Sabuth motions to the crowd, to get them to chant with her "Set them free". Grouse's actor is among those in the crowd chanting.]

Sabuth
xii. Set them free! Set them FREE!

[Sabuth turns back the the Count in defiance. The Count is taken aback, he nervously backs away from the naked Sabuth]

Count
xiii. Ruby! Ruby! Come now to me!
Sarrasan come help me!

[Sarrasan enters.]

Get her far far away from me
Away with her! Away!

Sarrasan
xiv. Say the word and she is dead.

Count
xv. Please no! [he pauses] In bondage years from now
She will see things different
She will come to love me after
[pauses] Spirit her to the drow

[Sabuth is dragged off stage shouting]

Sabuth
xvi. Never will I love a You!
Death to you Zarono!
Death to you Sarrasan!
Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!

[curtain]
