First off, I really like the new look and layout of the pages. They're crisp and neatly arranged, nicely styled and such.

But I gotta say, I spent a lot of time looking for information with the new setup, and if past experience hadn't told me it was worth reading awesome EFU info, I honestly wouldn't have bothered and given up. Information is not nearly as easy to access as it used to be. While most of it is there in the documentation, things like rogue and general perks took me a while to find. (Deliberately not using the search function)

While it looks cool, a lot of the information used to be condensed into less categories in the old posts, and it made it easier to read, scrolling down a post or two of relevant information rather than having to click and load a dozen or so info links. I'm not suggesting the documentation pages get removed, merely that the old forum for this return!

With me coming back like this, I can't really consider myself a 'vet' anymore, and so I figured the perspective of an essentially new player on something like  this might be constructive, or something.

TL:DR - Information assorted into stickies in the old format was much easier to read, access, and learn relevant/desired information. The new page looks very nice, but when looking for something specific, it is much more tedious to find it, if you don't know where to look as a noob!

I agree.  I was just doing a search on the site for info and this thread appeared. I believe what I was looking for was in the old "Information for New Players Forum".

Interesting. It appears it is set so players cannot see it. I always presumed you all had access to it. Will fix now.

[EDIT] It looks like the plan was to replace that forum with the Mistlocke Manual. I'll make some appropriate adjustments and hopefully that'll be good for everybody!

I believe the intention is to move most of the mechanics and server related information to the website eventually (the move is not yet finished and there are still bugs being worked out), but yes, no harm in making it visible again until that transfer has been completed.

I threw up a hyperlink to The Mistlocke Manual and will do some work on it to make it more complete. The easiest way to find stuff with it is to use the Index function. I'll possibly toy with it a bit to see if I can make it easier to intuitively navigate. Hopefully that will work out best for all that's planned.

So did I when I realized Cruzel was back.

Great to have you back, dude. I knew you couldn't stay gone too long.

the information for new players was 100% better than the manual. The manual has many dead links or incomplete information. And is also missing somethings like the many changes posted in the announcements forum.

For example
http://www.escapefromundeath.com/documentation/mechanics/mechanics

And put the perks there, they are nowhere to be found! D:

Perks are here but I agree, everything is still scattered somewhat, some of the stuff on the 'welcome' tab should also be in documentation as well. If the way to go is the manual, even adding the perks and most of the posts in the 'welcome' tab to the manual's index would be awesome.

Ok here's the deal. We started this whole "move everything to the site" initiative because you, the players complained that the info for new players forum was a mess and that you couldn't find anything. To the point where you even tried to start your own wiki briefly.
We've done that, but EfU has a HELL of a lot of stuff, and organising it is equally hell when it's me and two other guys doing it. Not to mention new stuff is often coming in faster than we can catalogue it.

Also, half the problem has been the site has been broken for nigh on 2 weeks and no one thought to tell me...

Shit like http://www.escapefromundeath.com/documentation/mechanics/mechanics was a prime example of the site being broke, that page is a placeholder to maintain the menu structure. But it's fixed now.

I and several other editors are trying to bring the documentation up to a standard where it's considered good. But we're only human.
