Was talking to a friend the other day, and they asked a simple question, but one that I had to stop and truly think about.  After some thought, I came up with my answer and wondered what you all would say, so here it is.

"If you could name only 1 thing in all your time here, what is the one moment, or thing, or event, that meant the most?"

I'm asking this to you the player, not a character, but to you, what one thing, event, what ever meant the most to you.

Mine was simple, after I thought about it.  Though there have been some really excellent 'things' here, I can say that the one thing that meant most to me the player, was a simple tell from a DM.  That tell let me know that I was doing a good job at portraying my character.  A tell, not loot, not an event, not XP or coin.  A simple tell that took perhaps 3 seconds of the DM's time.

So now.. what meant the most to you?

Not really 1 moment, but the end times of Sanctuary back in EfU meant the most to me.

It was a wild ride, and an emotional gut punch once it all registered.

The end of EfU:A was great and all, but it still doesn't top that.

I was playing Rodon Brinson back in the Watch, trying to judge whether this DrD recruit was good for the faction. He spoke firmly of his intention of strengthening the bond between the Spellguard and the Watch, something Brinson thought was misled due to his own experiences. To test the recruit, he sent him on the task to write a report about the Watch/Spellguard cooperation and learn for himself what sort of stuff he was going into. Sten, which was DrD's character, was told not to bother the Spellguard while he performed this task. He thought it meant spying upon the Spellguard and alerted their officers, who in turn alerted the Watch. After five-six months of active service to the faction and with the recent attainment of the rank of corporal, I felt incredibly wrecked when Brinson was not believed and furthermore demoted, then made to write a letter of apology to the Spellguard.

Suffice to say, it was not a good time for me and I felt that nothing I did truly mattered. Half-heartedly and with feelings of leaving the server I was joining Lieutenant Agrael Lothor's assignment the day after and as Lothor was speaking with a NPC Private, the Private looked behind Lothor, saw me, left the conversation to go and ask how I was doing.

Nothing comes close to that moment.

Mines the same, I've had maybe four tells during my time on EFU. Where a DM has told me they have been impressed with my character.

XP,loot, are nice. But just getting that pat on the back is an incredible feeling.

Staring Death

It was a short discussion I had with Howland back when I played Philip Meet, in the Underdark, about how he could end up with purple crystals embedded in his skin. It was at this moment I felt anything was possible!

Killing Bhast, blowing up the Stew Shoppe, Escaping from the Underdark. Close to fifteen solid hours of non-stop madness.

Absolutely fantastic, nothing else has come close. DM_Tom is the MAN.

The first time I logged into EfU, I noticed a painting on the wall of the tavern and asked about it. A quest then began to find the person who made that painting, and we discovered them trapped in a magic painting. We then held an exorcism ritual to free them, while fighting off ghosts in their abandoned house.

Sold.

Also later on, when either metropakt or ExileStrife (I forget exactly who) PMed me and said my character was quite "adroit." I had to look it up, but I smiled when I did.

Screenshot threads. Seeing everyone just share their memories and reminisce about how their characters interacted with one another and saying how much fun it was playing together. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I managed to join the server in a time of epicness, lucky me!  Of all the epic things I saw, I would have to say that the fall of Nebbezdos meant the most, especially the frantic runs escorting people to and from the temple of Jergal.  It was an amazing experience, I am honestly not sure if it could ever be topped.  Even typing this sentence, thinking about it, puts a big, happy grin on my face :D

Diz-e

Participating in a ritual that summoned the spirit of an evil god in order to animate the corpse of a paladin PC. Win.

One of many  epic moments.

Oh my. Yes. Diz-e. That was so awesome.

Sternhund

Escaping the Underdark with my first character (Jacob) and pissing people off with my third (Criler). There were many long hours of fun involved!

Oh, and this.
