My dwarf engaged in a drinking game and through the course of it he was addicted to alcohol. Even since then, whenever I log on it gives me an addiction check, which is fine except that when I fail the will save it says I need my fix and drains my dexterity. I go to buy some of the cheapest alcohol from the inn and I drink, I even drunk 4 bottles at a time, but my dex won't go back up, so everytime I log in, usually spaced by a few hours in between, my dex keeps getting drained and nothing seems to restore it, neither feeding my addiction, nor a restoration potion. Soon hes going to be going into the negatives on his dexterity.

Are you failing the poison check when drinking the alcohol? I believe you have to fail the DC check in order to feed your addiction, otherwise you're not getting drunk.

O Fortuna

Kind of like real life

Incorrigible

Yea, you need to fail the check to get drunk. After a while as you level or whatever your fortitude will increase and you'll need to drink more and more to become satiated (read: to fail the DC), or move on to stronger booze.

Jagged

Awesome system btw.

Porkolt

How the hell do you get addicted to alcohol by playing a drinking game?

MalkavianMilkBalls

you try drink 15 bottles of alcohol and have a crappy will and see what happens. Anyway thanks for the advice.

Underbard

A real dwarf would drink 15 bottles before breakfast.

How about drinking one toast after a successful quest in the first 48 hours of making a character and getting the monkey on his back as a result?  Forget 15 bottles!
