Please don't drag new PC's to Mistlocke overland forcing them to miss all the intro quests, I was running around showing two new players what I could but they missed out on alot of start up supplies and exp by being taken -directly- from the ziggerat.

New PCs sometimes are dragged with quest groups on the ziggurat to Mistlocke without going through the dreamer receptacle.

Two new players were taken via overland route to Mistelock by a higher lvl player who happened to be in Nezbezzdos, rather then going through the intro quests designed to help them adapt to the setting and gather loot.

DeputyCool

How dare that bastard RP with them, instead of letting them run quest circuits.

It's not a good idea. The first new character I made for EFU:M I was too scared to go off the Zig so I missed those QAs anyways - but perhaps for good reason! Nightrisers do appear sparsely there at night.

Interaction is good but a totally new player probably should be directed towards the Dream Sequence.

Knocking out pc's as they spawn in and carrying them to mistlocke sounds like a worthy hobby.

Knocking out PC's as they spawn and carrying them to murdertown for food. Adds a whole new dimension to 'full looting'

The higher level did not just happen to be in Nebbezdos.  Before the city fell, that player used to spend a lot of time atop the ziggoraut, welcoming new arrivals, because he felt sorry for them and it gave him a sense of purpose.  After the death of his close friend, he was very sad, so he went back to what used to make him happy.

They did the two scavenging quests in the Zig.  My character was in the Ziggoraut, waiting for new arrivals, to try to calm them down and welcome them, fill them in on what happened etc.  They  had the choice to take the mists or be taken overland, they chose to go overland.  They did miss out on the mists-visions, instead, they got a version of events from a PC.

I did not know those two were new players, I'll ask if I am uncertain next time.  I certainly don't want to deny any new players such a cool little trip.

I was one of the new players who was guided overland to Mistlocke.  As it happens, I didn't know to set my spawn point to Mistlocke, so I found myself at the ziggurat after a server re-set.  At that point, I went through the dream sequence and set my spawn point to the tavern.  It all worked out in the end.  Thanks to those who took the time to show me around!

I used to do this, as it made allot of sense in character, but I stopped after like the second or third person due to this. Mistlocke isn't very friendly to solo PCs anymore, and all of the best resupply things are in and around the Zig still.

When a PC offers to my character to "help me" and tells me that the overland route is much "safer" than the beginning quest I'm faced with a choice; Do the thing that is obviously IC and lose three-thousand exp, or tell them to screw themselves and go to the coffin for free exp.

I usually choose the second, but I feel dirty every time I do.
<elmo>: i have to say for me your glory days have been on EFUR RagingPurpleGiant1

Answer to your problem:
"What, go with you, a stranger, deep into the blighted lands for some safe 'paradise?' Do you think I'm stupid?"

Or something along those lines.
