hi people i am currently new to neverwinter nights and efu as i just got the game. I heard of this server from a dear friend who said he used to play this until work got in the way. He told me about this server but it seems it has changed? I am just wondering what is chapter three about. What has happened lately? What are the changes to the server since chapter 2?
please post any advice or info that you may know about if you have the time please. Or show a link where i can find out about this. Anyway hope to see you guys in game i will be playing a wizard named Azalin with more negative goals. Any advice for my choice of path and on what would be smart to do? anyway hello people and i should be playing in about two weeks as i am finishing up with school and am reading up on info and the rules of this server. :D see ya in game people

Since you're completely new to NWN, let me just tell you right off that this game takes a bit of time to figure out, and that goes double for this server. If you've had any experience with the pen and paper version of Dungeons and Dragons, that will help you a lot. You're likely to have a bad night and get discouraged at least once, but trust me (and probably your friend, too) when I say that the payoff is worth it in the end.

Take your time, and just start out by doing what sounds fun to you. There is a lot to learn, and it can be overwhelming. Just eat the pie one bite at a time.

thanks dude and yes i have played real neverwinter nights but only the greyhawk world and ravenloft i have read up on the forgotten realms as my father has an amazing collection of DnD items. I love real DnD and play with my friends as well. Azalin the name i have might be remembered if youve played ravenloft or greyhawk. I have to say mistlock seems a lot like ravenloft so far through reading. At least when it comes to mood and setting

i do have one big question though i read that the withering makes people undead. If you are a necromancer and you someday wish to become a greater undead is the withering then a good thing?

Not necessarily. If you become undead via withering, you're enslaved to H'bala. Not always a good trade off!

No, the Withering is a curse cast by a local lich named H'bala. It is not something that a necromancer would want, because it is a form of undeath that is outside of their own personal control. If you want to play a necromancer, you would definitely want to avoid the Withering as much as any other character, but it probably wouldn't hurt to understand how it works.

As with everything in EfU, the details are best discovered in game.

coooool this server sounds awsome. Sounds hard too. Will be a truly hard challenge indeed. So i got a question for the DM's to though did they have any influence from ravenloft in the making of mistlock

so if you become an undead through the withering it basicly means your characters finished 0.0

Becoming a lich is not impossible, but it should be said that no player has ever done it. Technically, I think it's actually possible to become a minor deity on this server, but again, nobody has ever done it. The DMs here have a pretty high standard for what can and cannot be done by a player character, and while it is exceedingly difficult, it is entirely fair and rational.

In other words, yeah, you can try for becoming a lich. You probably won't make it, but you'll have a lot of fun trying.

sounds cool and of course never know the most unlikely of things happens at times. No matter how many times it takes i will try and try for lichdom XD. Each character failure or not is only aiding my quest lol more knowledge on it will be gained at times.

The best characters I've ever played had utterly impossible goals. That's what makes this place so much fun.

This server is pretty tough, but our players find that if they persevere you can have a really fun experience here.
