These both have some extreme AB and damage, the Scarabs spawn in larger groups and have +2 weapons. I'd suggest a slight nerf on each one of them! :)

Egon the Monkey

The only thing +2 weapons scare specifically more than +1 is werecreatures. Good, they can curbstomp most enemies, there should be more things that bother them. The scarabs are very powerful for where they are though, and their numbers.

Ebok

I actually like them being scary, mind you I'm also not getting up close and personal with them.

Tentacles of Sand is a boss that's supposed to be dangerous.

Please nerf the crit range of the scarabs I believe I was crit with a 13 roll.

Wafflecone

Plant domain cleric provides hours of fun with scarabs, btw, these seem scary.

When I see random scary stuff around

I normally just walk away.

They spawn quite numerously at night, though.

I did recycle them, yes. Maybe they could be edited.

But I really don't get the whining about the scarabs. They're seriously not that bad, so what if they have a crit range? Is there some rule against some monsters having high crit ranges? I wasn't even the one who made them, but I think it's a perfectly nice novel way to make a monster semi dangerous. The base damage is fairly low.

Porkolt

The thing with the scarabs probably has to do with the number in which they spawn. They do pretty heavy damage as a result of the large crit range, and tend to spawn in groups of 3 or 4. One creature that has an AB of 11 and can quite easily do 20 damage a round is nasty, but not whine-worthy. Several of these at once are very, very scary.

Then there's the fact that in terms of average monsters beetles =/= scary. But these are. Toss in the effect of five crits in a row and your mayhem is complete. There's a great deal of psychology involved here too (which may very well be interpreted as just meaning that people are overreacting, but doesn't have to be, at all).

Ebok

Fear the dangerous parts of Ymph. It's healthy.

Craig210

They killed my bear :(

Tentacles of Sand's funny yes. I've only seen one but they come with an OOC note "//If you see this creature outside a quest it is not part of a plot". Wondered what that was about. As Porkolt mentioned, they aren't only in that quest any more, they spawn as generic enemies in the Desert areas.

Neither of these mobs are that bad and if you don't wish to fight them you can easily avoid them.
