A Maztican Campaign

Well met,

Decimate and I have been working off and on for a few months on a campaign we were thinking of advertising to the player base for the longest time.

Well, what time better than now I thought, so here it goes.

Maztica is being colonized.

The Conquista is underway. Rumors of glorious victories have ushered there way to Amn, along with the low current of fear and worry as the alien magic of this new world is being confronted by the traditional magics of the priests of the Old World confront those of the new.

They speak of the Holy Warriors of a Rainbow Dragon...Defenders who wear golden fears into battle and scream to their pagan gods...

The stories speak of darkness and terror, as the bloodthirsty war god Zaltec organizes the horrors of the land and the most vicious savages to confront the disciplined helmites as they push inward from the coast.

Tales of an immortal fountain of youth usher dozens of adventurers to pay passage or seek employment on the great ships that sail across the ocean....

Great hordes of gold, and the pelts of the land are worth more than twice their weight in Amnish coin attract hunters from across the breadth of Faerun to poach the new lands.

Land Hungry second, and third sons don armor and organize parties to conquer breadths of land and set up small kingdoms away from the watchful eyes of the Crown of Amn...some do not succeed.

The Church of Helm has organized a great Missionary effort to convert the natives from their heathen gods and show the True Faith to them all. Whispers of torture are generally disregarded, but persist, the more conscientious members of the Church feel compelled to investigate.

What is your reason for traveling to this new realm?

I know it looked a bit lame to read this, but there are so many concepts to do this, and DRD can be a true Conquistadoras and pwn some fools.

Maztica is an exceptionally interesting campaign setting. It is of course a direct analog to the historical Spanish Conquista. By far one of the most interesting events in early modern history, particularly due to all the moral qualms that hang around it like lights in a christmas tree.
