Alternative or enhancement for Whirlwind Attack?

I know that the whole Whirlwind "hey, now you can't do anything!" bug is hardcoded into NWN, but it feels a bit disappointing that anyone who takes the feat has to use it sparingly and at the risk of having to relog in the middle of a fight to avoid being utterly useless -- and this is particularly the case with prospective Weapon Masters. Is there any way to enhance the feat, edit it, or anything of that sort so that it's not a hindrance rather than actually being helpful?

I realize this is pretty far-fetched and I'm not sure how plausible it is, but I figured it's at least worth mentioning

Just keep one qued at a time. Then click on it again when you're done performing that whirlwind.

This should help. I support the sugestion though.

I noticed that bug is not described for the improved version. I don't know how much stronger imp. whirlwind attack is, but if not too much giving the epic feat to anyone with the basic one could fix it.

 So, queue the second one after the first one is completed and it  disappears from the queue? I wasn't aware of this, actually. How well  does it work?

The Improved version doubles the range of the attack -- each is a full-round action at your highest BAB, if I'm not mistaken.

That seems a lazy solution to a problem with a feat that's required for a PRC, especially one that has relatively unique feature like this one. I'm not trying to gripe or complain; it's just a suggestion for a bugged ability.

Just do them one at a time and it won't bug. Your character does its spin, then wait for it to actually land and go into the normal combat animation stance then do it again. Don't stack them or you'll bug.

I'd say anything that fixes the bug is good, because having to relog in combat will strip all buffs on your weapon and armor, meaning the feat just isn't worth using because of the risks. Even if it does double the range. I've seen suggestions about a script that adds a recharge timer of 10 seconds to prevent you from spamming it and bugging, that might be possible for a DM to add.

The only reason Whirlwind attack will ever bug is because you stack it (unless you're on Linux or Mac I guess).

Just wait until the first one has happened before you use it again and you will never have this problem!

Just keep an eye on the upper right, when it changes to the attack (sword) icon, use whirlwind again.

Best feat in the game, in my opinion.. if you use it right.

Our server does indeed run under Linux, so I guess it will lock up if used against three targets. I'd never heard that before though, so maybe it's worth testing.

I wish it would just work properly, I don't know maybe we can make some kind of special player tool attack as a replacement for it.

Could it somehow be rigged to a single great cleave attack that doesn't require a kill to work or something?

I'm actually almost positive that the three targets bug happens. I was following the whole "wait until the sword icon is back" thing in gnolls after I made this post and I still froze up once or twice despite waiting a round inbetween uses. I could be wrong, though, and accidentally queued it during my second attack -- but I'm pretty sure it occurs.

Yeah its nothing to do with how many times you spam it. Hit three targets and you lock up.

I know it doesn't really matter but the spamming thing definitely does happen! I've witnessed it IG many times.

Is it posible to "nerf" improved whirlwind attack and then give it for free to any PC wth Whirlwind attack?
