Firefly's vaguely entertaining, and one of the better Sci Fi series around.

But it explores nothing interesting, treads no new ground, makes no statements. At least with Whedon's other series' he was addressing female empowerment and the general theme of high school (literally) as hell.

Deadwood shits on it SO HARD. Jesus.

Watch the latest season of Treme, or all of Breaking Bad, or even Carnivale. If you hanker for more Sci-fi, give BSG a bash.

I started to watch it, and I just didn't see the allure. My roommate absolutely swears by it. Of course, he also loves all of the Stargate series, which, imo, are absolute crap (loved the movie though). I can't stand all these half-ass sci-fi shows now. The production is enough to make me gag, the acting is subpar, and I could write better in my sleep.
