Failed to Collect Pack

My items were handed to me by another player in the form of a bundle. (through the trade window) I dropped my bag on the ground to "unpack" it by the /c collect_pack command.

I got the message that I was "collecting pack", but nothing was collected (I did not get the message in my combat log of receiving items) and the pack dissappered along with my items.

The pack item was traded over, and then dropped to be recovered. When the command was typed, Undine moved to collect, yet nothing was collected and the pack dissapeared.

I think trading the bag items causes all the contents to be deleted.

Edit: Meaning they need to be dropped then picked up again rather than bartered.
