MD was one of the first players to explain how to RP to me, and his influences still form the basis for how I play and enjoy NWN PW's. I had the pleasure of DMing on CoA with him briefly, and of DMing for him on EFU.

Though it feels somewhat strange to laud someone's ability to portray a digital character, I suppose it is of merit in this community so I will say (as others have) that he ranked among the very best.

I will miss him immensely, and it is good to know that others here have had similar memories and some kind of (internet) love for him.

He will be missed. He was one of those players you enjoyed to RP from EFU early times all the way he was around.

you axed for it

MD was an incredible and, as Howland said, BADASS roleplayer. He simply did not give a fuck about mechanics or levels, and just went balls to the wall. Julian Valerius set the tone for both all Rogues, and all Bouncers, to follow. I shared many good times on early EFU with him and I won't soon forget them.

RIP man.

Pleading for a lover's fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?

MD helped draw new players into the world and intrigue of EfU so well.  Even those characters of his I never met IG, I knew about from other people talking about them.  He was always a nice guy on IRC too, fun to talk to about almost anything.  EfU would never have been what it was and is without his excellent contributions.

Rest in peace, MD.

first guy to interact and teach me roleplay way back when on coa, sickest guy :(

I did not know him, but he seems to have been a good man. Rest in peace.

I did not know him all too well, but my condolences and prayers go to his family and friends.

The Beggar

Interesting you post about MD and CoA Howland. I still remember my first character on CoA - A level 1 priest of Tempus that just happened to get to the city about the time that a certain evil necromancer (Pree) was working with an army laying siege to the walls. It was MD who sent me the welcome tells, and who ended up directing me how to get immediately involved.

An excellent RPr, his values, his personality and love for gaming I think showed in his characters, and he remains an example to draw from, learn from, and follow.

I was going to write something deep, but I couldn't have put it better than that. RIP MD you'll be sorely missed.

I don't believe that I've ever had the opportunity to play with MD, but I am saddened to hear a former player of our community had passed away.

EfU is a great server with an impressive playerbase and we owe it to each other to recognize what we've all given to EfU.

MD, in some way or another, helped our server become what it is and we, who continue to play on a server shaped from individual thoughts, ideas and concepts, should honor those that aided us in making where we call "home" as spectacular as it is.

RIP, MD.
