Hi guys, some time no see.

Ahem, well, i switched my hard drive and the EFU page was on the bookmarks of this hard drive's firefox. With the free time i've had since i have no job anyone i felt a bit of nostalgia an figured might be a good idea to come back, especially now that my rage outbrusts are much less frequent.

But then i thought about what i was facing. EFU:A is very enjoyable, but also very hardcore at times, and i'm not much of a hardcore player. I was wondering if there was a faction, plot, or simply a chain of events i could get a character into and have fun while not needing to be obsesively playing for 4 hours dialy in order to reach something. By that i don't mean a risk-free enviorment, but to avoid a "you have to be log every day for three hours to follow this plot and at any given moment you are likely to die to a cheap turn of events in a non-fun way" scenario.

I'm thinking something like the blood legion of Targus DTW started some time ago, where it wasn't a big deal if i went absent for 3 days, and only about a quarter of the server was out to get me.

Just wondering, if there isn't i'll won't really reply, just move on. So in case there isn't, see you later and keep being awsome.

You can be as active as you like playiong pretty much anything. Just don't expect to be able to get heavily involved with any plots or stuff like that if you don't put a lot of time into your play.

If you want to move along at your own pace, you may be best off setting the pace yourself - that means something player-driven that you have a hand in guiding. So try to come up with something neat and work on it when you are around!

For instance, you could apply for Archeologist, and try to start up an explorer's guild or some such. This way, while you aren't dependent on other plots, you have a good reason to get involved in anything involving exploration as your time permits. You can probably come up with all sorts of bigger and better goals that might fit.

Do what I do: Be a forum whore. I run on the graveyard shift so i'm not usually around when alot of players or DM's are. But the forums are there to get your character out there.

Nightshadow

*stabs GoblinSapper for drowning him out on the Ruins Litter*

Ahem... But anyway, you might consider a simple militiaman.

If you're interested in something like this, I am also a pretty softcore player (heavy university studies and (not quite as heavy) girlfriend doesn't leave a lot of time for EfU marathons) who are playing an archaeologist/explorer, with my own little group of PC's. Since my time is so limited, I try to plan stuff beforehand as much as possible so that I and the ones involved can make the fun stuff with a minimum of time wasted. If you're interested in finding out more or so, just chat me up on #EfU, I'm Wrexsoul there too.

This is, of course, simply my opinion as a player...

But I am NOT reading your 10 Ruins Litter post per day. I didn't read RwG's when he used to do it either (although he seems to flit between whoring himself to sendings and forums alternatively). Seriously. Not happening. It is, in my opinion, gaudy and obnoxious because everybody else struggles to get their messages heard too.

Knowing you as I do, I imagine that reading this makes you chuckle, GS. If I'm wrong and this upsets you, catch me in IRC and we'll talk to prevent derailing.

That being said, the forums are a wonderful tool for those who can't log in as often as many other players, so his point is actually quite good.

Consider this a warning from me to you to stop.

The forum should be used tastefully and not spammed, allowing for the maximum number of characters to provide some exposure for their projects or posts.

The Beggar

EfU can be time demanding, but it doesn't have to be. I too have a time limited and variable schedule that impacts my ability to go on long quests or special events, or long rp sessions. Right now though I am really enjoying a wilderness pc. 20 min? No problem, I can explore a new area, do a little rp session, or a quick quest. It's very low stress. There are lots of city concepts you could be low key with too.

Divine Intervention

The classic adventurer is pretty good for little time playing.  You can combine both your main rp and questing easily so you enjoy the best of both within the managable time limit of a quest or exploring session.
