Seriously guys i played this quest for the first time ever with a group of people, and I've been playing the server for about a year now! I actually thought it had just been recently added until i was told otherwise that it is one of the oldest quests on the server. Well that shocked me because i honestly think it is a great quest, possibly one of the best.. reason being:

I love the way it has the 'tug of war' feel to it, now I'm not going to go into too much detail in case of spoilers but i love the idea of NPCs fighting along side you while wave of enemies pour in. This really does make it feel like a full on battle.

Anyway! i would suggest that more quests have this kinda of aspect to it, like perhaps a gladiator arena in which you and your team along with a few NPC allies have to defend from waves of attackers, this is just a simple idea i came up with in three seconds but just think of the options.

I just thought it was sad that such a great quest has been forgotten, i have never seen or heard anyone doing it my whole time with EFU, and i would also suggest to people who don't know what I'm talking about to take a good walk through the temple district.

To summarize:

More quests like this

Spam this quest for fun, because fun is good.

More quests like this.

GoblinSapper

You've never played Longest Night, I take it?

Egon the Monkey

It's not exactly done much for a few reasons. You have to do it in the night, with a fully Good or Neutral team, it can be fairly tough on an unsuitable team due to the mobs, and it's in effectively Dominion territory. I think that due to the other restrictions, it would be improved by moving it out of the Dominion borders a little.

It is, though, an amazing quest and the most fun example of the "Invasion" type. Between the NPC allies and fact the mobs don't spam
Hide
s which cause it to always be about not getting hit by them, you really feel it's about holding back a horde. SilentSouth, there's several invasion-style quests, though sadly a couple got removed recently. It would be good if we could have the Wolves quest back, given out by a hunter who wants you to kill them so he can skin them, say.

Porkolt

There's not really a lot left to spoil here.

To mention, orcs has a similar mechanic.

SilentSouth

I wasn't suggesting more Invasion quests, i love the ones that we have already, i think what i was really trying to say was i want NPC allies on the invasion quests.

For example:

Rot goblins part 2 is alot like this, i think that should have some normal goblin NPCs from the gobsquat you fight with.

It just adds a nice feel to the quest in my opinion.

colorox

I would love to see more quest that involved NPC's! Especially when it comes to their lively hood with-in the city walls, like collecting food, water, firewood, etc..Basic needs to survive in which most goodly PC'ers  roleplay but rarely get support from NPC's less DM controlled.

With that said, I like what the team has done with the sending system using the children to make the sendings. :D

Divine Intervention

Longest night is the best quest.  The true quest for every paladin.

Bring up the Staircase from the Underdark! BEST quest EEVEr!

Listen in Silence

Please don't bring up the staircase.

Also, I agree with Egon's point of considering moving the quest to a more neutral area. Few fully good or neutral groups will be based out of the Dominion.

Equinox

Npcs in invasion quests would be a bad idea. I like them on longest night. But it would be so annoying for mages who like to use aoes.

Example: I once used a web spell on longest night, the templars then hostiled me and tried to kill me. I spent the entire quest in invis to avoid being killed by my own allies. On the main frontliner.

I feel this idea would bring more trouble than coolness. And besides, who wants to fight alongside goblins? Greenskin scum.

Lenthis

Hmm, Do note that should you be useing aoes and hit team mates?

Also- I think we should add some miltiamen Npcs to orcs and up its difficulty a bit, add goblin npcs to gobs 2 and the like, But in order to do this make it a mite harder and give it nicer rewards, My two cents but I honestly think npcs give it a whole new flavor.

Divine Intervention

It's hard not to hit NPCs who run around like idiots, especially with web where they simply might walk over it when fighting.

The Temple district is no longer Dominion territory.  The Stygian armada and militia NPCs moved out a long time ago.   The location is fine where it is. Oh, yeah, btw;

Best QUEST EVER!  Just like the Disciples of the Pallid Mask was the best faction ever!

Spiffy Has

The Pallid Mask was far from the best faction. Just saying. <.<
