Hallway of Hope quest.

I think that Samael Lashnaveous' quest in the Hallway of Hope is not working as intended.  When I accept the quest, my journal is not updated, and I cannot open the grate.  This is with a paladin character.

If this is an IG puzzle, rather than a bug, I apologize.

Correction:  My journal was updated with the following:

This is a Confirmed bug. I killed all the spawns and nothing happened.
