Arcane Eye with Darkvision

Arcane Eye is a really awesome spell, but it's very frustrating that it cannot see in the dark unless the caster has low light or darkvision. This makes the spell equally useful for all races.

Should it be though? I mean it's a magical eye I know. But maybe it's more a case of your eyes seeing as if you were there and as such you'd have difficulty seeing through smog and darkness!

On the other hand if it doesn't allow you to use the effects of ultravision it probably should!

Well, in DnD, divination sensors have all the spells you do. Does the Eye have See Invis at all normally? Or if you have it up when you cast it?
