Oddball racial templates

Stupid notion that popped into my head: What would people think about applying nonstandard or planar templates to races other than humans? Wouldn't it be possible to have, say, a Tiefling/dwarf or an Aasimar/elf? Would it be inconceivable to have, say, hin with genasi blood?

Even as I type, I realise that there might be balance issues and that is why it is ordinarily humans only, but still, what do people think? I'm just curious, really.

I gues it could be possible in a sense, but presently tieflings represent bloodlines where one of the ancestors made a bargain or some else with demon/devil or some such.

In my general understanding, it'd been somewhat unseen for it to happen among any other race, resulting in something totally different for other races.

I'm pretty sure halflings, elves and what not have totally different aspects than being a tiefling/aasimar. Fey kind creatures, avariels and what not on elves ( I have no idea if they have any relation to outsider lines or not ) - but tieflings/aasimars themselves represent humanoids, human lines specificly.

There are other sorts of Realms-specific demi-human planetouched already. Azar, Fey'ri, Tanaruuk, etcetera. None of them are really fitting for the setting, however.

It would not be an aasimar at all. Most of the other plane touched races are absurdly powerful in line with half dragon, minotaurs etc.

A spade is still a spade.  Chances are, you won't see a half-orc tiefling or a Tanaruuk on EFUA.
