This might be totally off, but I seem to recall that way back when the server was still pretty new everyone was instructed to keep their mini-maps closed as much as possible since keeping them open increased lag in some way. Is this still/was this ever true? Could it help, now?

Spiffy Has

6:30 p.m. EST, Major Major Major lag spike.

I was on Gregor Farsun in the cave off the perilous cliffs. During the time a group was in the desert doing who knows what!

Helge

Around 1 am GMT+2. During lag one of the group (can't remember who exactly) reported that he has a whole bunch of monsters (drow, nightrisers etc. lots of them) in his party list.

We were "the desert group" near the Veil.

Somniis

It was Rimmeke's character... She reported ooc: basically getting a whole series of NPCs, svirfneblin, nightrisers... to the right of screen joining her party (joining parties mechanically, of course, doesnt happen on EfU)... Strange... Happened during the 45 second lag spike.

Sorry about the lag.. 13 players in the one area fighting stuff.

Spiffy Has

I was  while on the zig bitching about a lack of dm. :( I was fully buffed as well!

Karrin Connell casted on Gregor: Dex, Strength, Endurance, Flame Weapon, Magic Weapon, Keen Weapon, Greater Magic Weapon, Improved invisibility, see Invisibility, Iron Guts, protection from Elements, And was about to cast extended haste but she logged.

This was on Jan 11 2011, 2:15 p.m.

Wildlings

Jan. 13th 2011  about 9:00 pm CST

Where:  Starwood

I was wandering the woods when attacked by Haguur eater of men, an Orc Warrior, Orc Beserker, 2 wolfs and a jungle cat.  (I had been invis, but Haguur saw me)

The lag spike hit so hard that both I and the 'monsters' were warping around the screen.

Canzah

On the latest two occasions that I have done the Gnoll Quest, that being since after the retouch, I have experienced some immense lag.

It seems to me that others have had the same issue as well.

The Old Hack

GMT +1 around 10.45 AM. All of a sudden thick lag when I was just trying to leave my room and go outside the Kingsman.

Exprienced same, was warping all over the kingsman at same time, we both could not reach the door..

I believe rot gobs 2 caused it when a couple dozen goblins were constantly rolling saves in their own gas clouds.  Those of us on the quest got the worst of the lag, I'm sure.
"So what else is on your mind besides 100 proof women, 90 proof whisky, and 14 karat gold?"
"Amigo, you just wrote my epitaph."

The Old Hack

Absolutely mad skating rink lag upon login just entering the Kingsman. This was 4.20 PM GMT+1.

Caddies

Should definitely consider whether or not the Gibberlings are influencing lag or not. I notice that whenever the server is extremely laggy (which is incredibly often, it seems) there are also literally ten billion gibberlings in the ruins.

Thegoldflows

Any progress on removing the lag would be sick. Gibberlings do seem to cause a decent amount of it and spawn in massive quantities.

Staring Death

Someone should tell the Conclave to do their job.

The Old Hack

Skating rink lag just now walking about the Ziggurat. Really bad.
