This spell is currently blocked by spells that also block magic missile and I would assume that it isn't meant to be that way since it is elemental damage that is blocked by all of those protections and resistances as well. (There is no magic resistance available AFAIK due to bleeding damage being magic, ect)

Are you sure you're not confusing it with blur's ability to give resistance to all level 1 spells?
