Hello! My PC is all about remembering his.. Well Memory, thats his goal. He will do anything for it, and he has been asking around and found out some good details on returning his memory and all of the details hes gotten has made me think of an amazing plan, But its extremely hard. And I don't even know if EFU has like a place built for the underworld. So here is my plan, and I don't want to think of the specifics because I'm pretty sure it wont even happen. So a general Idea is this: He finds a ship and sails to wherever the Land of the Dead is, (He hasnt found out yet) and then he Lulls Cerberus the three headed dog gaurding the door to the underworld with three big bowls of alcohol. Or brings a Great bard to play beautiful music, Or fights him off with a big group of people. Then, He finds the Charon, boatman on the river Styx, hands him two copper coins hoping for passage on the river. Then he finds the River Of Memorys and drinks it and remembers everything he lost. Is that stupid? Impossible? Never going to happen? or just silly? I honestly don't think it could happen. But hey its worth a try to ask right?

thank you all for reading and please any feed back would be great(:

If you rock out enough, it might just happen.

That being said, you should have goals regardless of this ultimate one!

Sounds about right, nice idea. Try to send a PM about this for a few people too (I don't want to know everything that is going to happen before it does! :P).

Even though I doubt there is an underworld of Faerun I am sure that it can be changed to fit the setting.

This could be a really interesting goal.  The River Styx makes you FORGET everything, but holds on to those memories.  Some demons/devils can feed on or use these memories, so this could lead to whole other plots.  I suggest writing an application and discussing it with a DM on IRC.

Sounds pretty ambitious and cool, though.  Best of luck.  Anything is possible in EfU:A.

Yeah, this doesn't quite match up with the FR setting, but I'd say you've got even more potential with the Mist here.   Nobody's quite sure what it is, it seems to mess with minds and memories, and there's an NPC faction devoted to learning about it (the Dreamers) that hasn't has a PC in it in ages. Make contact with PCs who might know about memory, divining, the Mist etc and see where that leads. Apply for Dreamer with the intent of searching the Mists for your lost memories, that sort of thing.

In Forgotten Realms, when you die, your soul is released from its mortal shell and tranported to the Fugue Plane. There, it is judged by the lord of the dead, Kelemvor. He decides wether the soul has lived faithfully to their deity, and, if so, sends them to that deity's plane. If they haven't lived faithfully to their deity, betrayed their teachings, they are condemned to live as one of the False, a spirit forced to dwell the City of the Dead for all eternity as Kelemvor's unwilling servant. If they haven't adopted a deity at all, their soul is worked into the Wall of the Faithless, a wall made out of souls that surrounds the City of the Dead.

This is how death works in FR. What you're describing is based on Greek mythology. That's not how the setting works, even though there are analogies everywhere.

Egon's got a good idea about trying to tie this to the Mist, though. Whatever you do, just have fun.

There are a lot of parralels in FRCS, especially when you get into the Planes.  One doesn't have to 'die' necessarily to get to an outer plane, and it's possible for some mysterious past where exactly what you're describing happens.  Maybe not the River Styx, maybe not the 3 headed dog Cerebus, but it's only for the DMs to say that something can or can't have happened.

On the one hand, what you are describing is pretty lofty, and I'm sure the DMs would be more inclined to really get to know what kind of player you are and how much you add to the server's rich storyline, following a lot of the suggestions in this post before committing to something so special for a single character.

On the other hand, I have seen first hand DM run events for specific characters that one could say are at the scale you are talking about.

It's all possible through DMs, but remember that there are a lot of players, each with their own goals and stories and the DMs are generally going to focus on the most fun/inclusive concepts that fit with the vibe of the server as a whole.

The River Styx most certainly exists in this setting, and travels through many of the Lower planes.

I can vouch for this statement.... >_>

It flows through a lot of the lower planes, indeed, and it even creates the Blood Rift, where Devils and Demons wage war constantly, and is home to the Yugoloths.

It is called The River of Blood in Forgotten Realms setting.

Just for any future reference.

Vacationed there. Had some sandwiches and spoke to some nice people. It's a pretty neutral place, really. :]
