Ive never done such a post, so, please be gentle!
The idea is something I have in mind a long time. Funny enough I bumped into a char with a simular idea, if an idea lives in more than one mind, perhaps its a good idea then! The things I mention are -ofcourse- quite scetchy, not at all set in stone.
 
A troupe/ band of artists, acrobats, knife-tossing & firespewing missfits. A circus of curious, of the outcasts, the odd, and perhaps sometimes a circus of a more dubious nature. But formost a band of strangelings and weirdo's seeking to belong and seeking to entertain those of a more set status. As Efu has changed perform- as a skill, and added efuss skills 'entertainment, acrobatics' this is the perfect group setting, and in my humble opinion a perfect addition to our dark and sometimes gloomy setting.
 
My character is looking to start this group from the gobsquat, as we all know the place most creatures can walk. The owner of the Hanged Gobin being a sister of the trait, a bard, who seems to like the idea of entertainment with capital E, new and contemporary artforms.
 
It is ofcourse the intent to be more than performing bards. Anyone with any sense of disatachement and feeling thrown away is welcome to this family-as that IS quite alike how these troupes are often. There is so much to do, when running a show of considerable size, much to be done befor it can launch, and much to be done during the performance, and afterwards.

Those who like to perform, please consider joining, as in addition the intent is to bring entertainment, theatre, dance, performance and the word 'Show' to a whole new dimension. No more simply sang balads, no more poetry for the mass, things will burn, furniture dance, explode, the audience will need to participate. Im hoping a skilled healer who is an oddball finds its way to us, they will be worshopped like a god!! Along with the cutpurses, brutally strong, sly and slender, etc etc. Anyone with secret talents has a stage to 'excersize' their talents on, where perhaps usually they would die if seen in public.
 
We seek to gain fame amongst the nobles ranks to the fishermen, we seek to be invited to perform in Old Port, for the Duke, the Son's or on top of the Zig. To spice up speeches, and duels alike.
 
For it seems to me we can upgrade the level of entertainment offered in such a dark and rough home as the island can be, to something befitting the experiences of the locals. As to be honest, they have been through a lot, and an extreme setting demands the possibilities for more extreme..outlets, with extreme i mean not to discart the whores and poets around, who do a good job.
 
And ofcourse coins are to be generated and spent. I almost forgot the motivator for so many beings. My char pays and seeks to be payed for services performed.

My character's background is being part of a planar travelling circus variety show, and I was planning on trying to start something similar in-game, but depending on how goes IC it sounds like it'd be great to join forces. I look forward to meeting up!

Yes it could be rather..sick. I think it should vary per show and per client, or event. There should be space for Beauty and Horror alike. Seems a few people had simular notions at once, and, that is great- not everyone needs to do exactly the same as well, there is mucho space for tones and colours and intent! Looking forward to meeting up as well, Planar Oddball!

Im told i need to change the name to Cirque des Curioses, so i shall. Looking for creatures willing to participate still, can be the gay goblin pegleg and so on, but mostly its about creating player events for eachother on a different scale and tone than the usual. Challenge morals, fears, shock and enlighten is the idea!

Slowly but surely crystalising. Those who wondered if its a Circus, it is a performance based idea, but certainly open to many other things.

This looks very fun, and if I wasn't busy on a character I'd likely be in on it. Was discussing ideas with Emprez like:
-Pitfighting and exhibiting some of the creepier summons
-Raids into the wilds to capture wild animals for display
-Using the Decks of Cards and Tarot cards for fortune telling, possibly even on a diviner wiz/sorc who actually CAN predict stuff!
-The fact that this would make the perfect cover for any sort of spy to travel between the Dominion/Docks/Conclave/anywhere.
-Gambling, gambling and more gambling.
-Great excuse to play any sort of aasimar/tiefling/genasi/victim of bizzare necromantic or illithid experimentation and join a freak show.
-Halfling trick-shot knife throwers.
-The Monk who travels with a show, taking all cimers in boxing matches to test his skill.
-Dwarven. Bearded. Ladies.
