Another quest like the ice elemental quest might be cool.

The only way to balance Dead Magic Zones is with Dead Physical-Damage Zones. Balance, BALANCE!

Yalta

The short lvl +10 quest in the UD had a high level mage who whacked down some nasty dispelling. The ones in the UD seemed pretty balanced and were tricky.

Or as Tom and Disco say I am sure the DM's imaginations could come up with some great way to get around it?

Also Djspectre, you are absolutely right that lvl 10's should be running factions, be in plots, getting lots of people involved etc.

But.

It is also nice to have stuff to do as well as that, a little bit of variety is nice and questing is part of that. And has been said in this thread and the previous one. This is NOT leveling. Make the quest 0xp that is fine, its about having fun and doing some slightly shorter quests, not trying to level.

Already in...

Anyway, I'd like to see some more. The XP isn't really what people are after, it's entertainment of a different variety and perhaps a means to -maintain- some sort of supplies. No one is going to go on a quest that isn't rewarding when completed either (which I'm sure you'll see when the CCW are removed from Lizardmen if the other loot isn't adjusted).

Mist Ogres would be a nice challenging base for a high-end quest I think.

I'm not sure the average player really wants to deal with monsters that are toting Invisibility Purge and Dispel in large quantities on quests.

We'll see though, something along the lines of the difficulty / length of Drow Caravan could work.

How about more interaction on high lvl quests, using skills to progress, i liked Lulz's idea. i personally found being head of a PC faction and being high lvl does have its drawbacks. You have limited interaction with the newer and lower lvl members of a faction. You get more info about players PC's when questing i found. So even if you do manage to quest, the newer members of the faction just have to sit it out and its quite OOC for dwarves to bugger off and leave his kin behind.

I'm all for longer, harder quests with low reward.  It gives something besides PvP to use the massive consumable bloat most get at the higher end and something to do.  It doesn't even have to give alot of exp!

I think what we need are more 4-10 & 4-9 quests, level 8 PCs have it rather dificult, and it's hard to catch up with your faction's average level range if you can't quest with them because they are already level 8.

Of course, a good way to stop the complainers from complaining is to cut down on the level size of folks...[nudge nudge wink wink holds scimitar up high crying out for blood of pcs]

Who's complaining?

You don't need DMs for that ;-)

We'll be focusing more on low level quest content and definitely toning down the rewards for most of the high level quests just as a heads up. In the future, I can foresee a few more high level quests opened though.

Well, i would certianly enjoy a gameworld with less level range and therefore more focus on the character development RPwise, but that is off topic.

Somone had suggested quests that where high-risk, very high-reward and that could only be done once, but that followed a story, a scripted plot. I belive mort liked the idea, and i presonally think it would be sweet. Why not add these quests and make them high level?

There are a few quests that got closed due to minor bugs IIRC. Instead of making brand new quests you could fix the bugs in those.
