The Boom King

I'd prefer having a few open abandoned buildings that can simply be claimed. Especially in the docks and the unpopulated districts. The Docks have no rules; you could just squat anywhere you like as long as you can take on whoever tries to stop you.

Having to pay monthly for a guildhall that is kinda..... lame, is kinda lame. I mean, I suppose it's an option if you play a character who's in service to the duke or whoever, but I think a lot of people would prefer to attain property without having to go through the earning of patricianship; especially since a lot of characters may wish to start organizations, but not kiss-up to anyone.

I preferred it when people could just find a cave somewhere, hang out there and be productive, and eventually have it grow into a grand HQ.

i will try to fix you

The thing is, you can't put Persistant Storage in if it's just an abandoned building that you have to claim, as well as locked doors for plotting. Things like the Merchant Guild renting out buildings would be perfectly IC imo!

12 Hatch

The way I understand it, you can still earn a guild HQ the old way through involving a lot of players in a lot of interesting stuff.  The renting of guildhouses just provides an automated alternative path for people to take.

I like that there are multiple options, and, of course, any time something can be done purely through in-game mechanics, that frees up DM time for other things.

Correct me if I'm wrong on this, though!

Drakill Tannan

Place a couple abandoned buildings, and a couple rentable guildhouses.

12 Hatch, change your picture, it creeps me out.

Right on the money.

Those asking for a claimable abandoned building in the Docks for their gang/thieves guild/etc should look around.

Rentable guildhouses will be added soon...nobody can figure out Mort's system though, and he's away at the moment. :(
