More guildhouses

I honestly thought the original 4 guild houses was good. Really I am not a big fan of only two guildhouses because it simply eliminates competition and makes it a pain in the kneck for PCS with banners/guilds to find their own faction HQ ETC. I think perhaps another guildhouse or even two can be added to the lower dwellings as it is a place were patricians are supposed to life.

Any thoughts or ideas on why the two guild house system should be maintained?

I think it would be better if the following changes were made:
  • Limit the length of time that guilds are allowed to buy in advance to prevent dissolved factions from "blocking" a Guildhouse such as the Children of Yondalla recently did.
  • Allow anyone with a key to the guildhouse to pay rent. This would be a practical measure to prevent factions folding upon the death of their leader because a DM can't be found to transfer the banner.
  • Re-Introduce the two docks guildhouses by copying and pasting the blueprints if they are still in the module or a backup. Have them guarded by Sons Gangsters and rent on them paid to Captain Stergnov.
More guildhouses would definitely be a good thing. THey've been slow to design becuse Mort was building them and wanted them all to be distinct, but we have a couple of spare desings now left

Guildhouses in the docks? That sounds odd.

I think the Warden's Gate or the Inner City Ruins would be the obvious place for any new guildhouses.

I would like to see more all over the place, but I'm pretty certain the DMs are already working on this! Also, Gobsquat one imo

Dr Dragon

Im all in favor of lower dwellings. or anywhere in the Dominion. Also the docks dont need guild houses they need stores!

Relinquish

I want my guildhouse to be my own private pad, no one else is allowed in.

-  1 in Gobsquat (paying Tribute to the Chief)
-  3 in the Dominion (paying Tribute to the Duke - 2 on the Zig, 1 in Wardens Gate)
-  2 in the Docks (paying Tribute to the Sons)

That's how I'd like to see the guildhalls function.  It encourages activity and growth in each of the three main areas.

Would rather see all the stores and such finished before adding guildhouses.  A few player factions are neat but ten player factions all with guildhouses and only like two out of them all actually do something constructive... Meh, more DM fation being filled with a few minor yet productive player factions is better.

Disco

IMO guildhouses should be application only. Nothing fancy. Just a "we have lots of players give us HQ"

Meldread

Guildhalls were automated on purpose.  People can still apply for custom built guildhalls, but they cost an arm and a leg.  The automated guildhalls are somewhat of an intermediate step, and are really designed (IMO at least) for factions that have not yet really proved themselves.

I think a gang hideout tithe thing for the docks would be cool.

Nihm

Cheaper guildhouses that don't come with guards at the door might be good for the warden's gate area or inner ruins, somewhat like renting in a slum will be cheaper but riskier.

Talir

I wouldn't mind seeing two guildhouses in the Docks, in their own flavor and structure. A thieves' den and an inhabitated shipwreck, etc...

Feel free to be more specific in what theme these guildhouses would be but bear in mind that it may not be implemented soon. A good suggestion, nevertheless.

QuoteLimit the length of time that guilds are allowed to buy in advance to prevent dissolved factions from "blocking" a Guildhouse such as the Children of Yondalla recently did.

If your faction is just occupying space, we'll intervene. Keep working and pursuing your agenda, those in possession of a guildhouse now.

Coldburn

I'd put in a warehouse in the Docks. This can appeal to both Merchant factions and a Thieves' Guild. Athkatlan Shadow Thieves' HQ in BGII as an example.

Decimate_The_Weak

Yeah, I totally endorse the idea of two guildhouses in the docks. That would be amazing. They exsisted in the past, why don't they exsist now? :]
