I just got to visit the misty woods beyond the desert ICly, what a head trip that was. Kudo's to the developers. Having played on a Ravenloft server, i'm curious if you were inspired by the campaign setting at all, especially given that the Achipeligo is ruled by a mysterious, distant, tyrranical COUNT in a domain cut off from the world by MIST.

No offense meant, it's 2 am when i'm writing this. Really great stuff, glad to be here.

I think its been said before the DMs receive inspiration from many many sources, but try to keep it original.

99% of that region is DangerousDan's work.

I did the 'Travelling' area. Eh. Well. Overall design and transitions. Dan added plot.

It was great to finally see what all was there.

Winston Martin

It was fun seeing a place that was new for me. Now only if goblin sapper would pick 1 pc and stick to it.

DangerousDan

I don't actually think EfU:A was inspired by any one source, although Ravenloft was at least a touchpoint for me when developing the Forgotten Forest, with that Grimm fair tale style vibe for things. That said, I know the Count/The Mist idea were independantly developed.

Glad you like the areas!
i walked one morning to the fair

I came up with the Mist, and had never heard of any Ravenloft details before. I also had never watched Lost, for what it's worth. There are definite influences though from a wide variety of sources that we have cheerfully stolen, though.

To be quite honest a lot of the reason for the "Mist" is because in 1.69 all of a sudden we had these neat new mist placeables that just demanded excessive use.

GoblinSapper

And thats the best reason of all.

PS: Sticking to one PC is very unlikly, i'm like as not to end up with 1 of every class.
