I think that the ranger AB bonuses against favored enemies on EFU are a little lopsided as they are. I've seen some discussion on this from numerous people and I think the idea I liked the most was the following.

At levels 1, 5, and 10 a Ranger will receive +1 AB, +1 Damage,  +1 Dodge AC, +1 spot, and +1 listen against their favored enemies.

Using that level spacing and having the bonus at 10 would encourage more pure ranger builds. The bonuses would be directed towards both offense and defense against their enemies rather than the current option that is fully offensive. You could even add additional saves or something if the 'nerf' to offense is too great.

I would vote for anything that tones the ranger down, or all the other classes up.

They are the most powerful class atm, in my opinion.

Rangers also recieve their custom bonuses in civilized areas as it is now, which is surely broken.

Caddies

Rangers don't need buffing.

Yeah that's the general idea here. A means to reduce their massive AB gain and perhaps exchange it for something less. Maybe dodge AC against the FE is too good as well but the idea here is a nerf, not a buff.

Caddies

-2 AB at L10 for +3 stackable AC? That is most definitely a buff.

Rangers are fine, they are good but not broken.

I've played several rangers in my time on EfU, and the current one longer than any before. They're a great class and a lot of fun to play, with just about any concept fitting into it somewhere.

While their bonuses are good against their chosen foes, they only get one, or maybe two chosen foes of any kind, so it's not all that unbalancing in that respect. The combat bonus while nice, is very limited in my opinion as the choices are so restrictive. As for the other bonuses in the city, I know the stealth bonus is lost in the city areas for certain, but have not checked the spot bonuses so I can't say one way or the other about that.

I don't think they need to change.

Fight the power there, che

Nihm, Spot/Listen/Hide/MS/Speed bonuses don't work in the whole Zig/Bridge area.

Playing a ranger myself, I'm totally against adding AC to the class, it would make it absolutely and overly powerful.

Rangers are good, but they aren't overly powerful as it is. Just have to know their weaknesses!

I find it refreshing that for once, rangers aren't the weakest class in NWN. That's reason enough to keep them as is!

Excluding the numbers and idea I put forth I think that they still need some adjustment. At the moment they are able to reach nearly +30 AB against up to 3 racial types (read:Humans/majority of the population and two for extra flavor) on a low magic / level world. A Dex build or dual wielding build can reach 2 less with 4-5 attacks at an AB that can't miss a fully equipped fighter.

Outside of the divine wands, best stealth possible, tracking, high detection, free dual wielding, and d10 HP, I just feel as if there is a better alternative out there than providing them with a massive AB bonus for the level range we're in.

Just my opinion however, if it's not desired then so be it! :)

I'm, personally, more interested in perhaps seeing the shift to +1 per 3 Levels

FE: Human should be stackable if anything.

9Lives suggestion appears valid.

Rangers are perfect on EfU:A and need no changing.

At level 8, a pure ranger gets +4 AB vs their favored enemies. Having played a pure ranger with FE Human and FE Monstrous Humanoid (which between them, covers about 40% of everything), I have to say it really isn't that overpowered. It's definitely a nice edge to have, but it's not going to make you more powerful than a fighter of equivalent level, even if they are one of your favored enemies. You will still lose in PvP against a well-prepared opponent.

I wouldn't change a thing, myself.
