So far, the docks look rowdy but it lacks the sounds of the rowdyness. I think the generic background sound should be the sound of rioting and fighting. You know the whole glass breaking and yelling. Kind of like the tortuga feel from pirates of the carribean.

Dock's is meant to be less rowdy these days now the sons are keeping the peace. No longer do the gangs fight each other, but focus on fighting the stygians.

Allowing free PvP brawls as long as they are subdual/sparring and unarmed, could help.

Luke Danger

Free PvP zone with NPC's in the area, when it's not an arena? Not gonna happen I think. Someone might just FD for the hell of it when the DM's are u in avalible.

And yes, what Eq said is actually right.

Dr Dragon

Pcs are free to have brawls and beat eachother up if they take the time to get a DM.

I'm against this. There are too many NPC's to justify uncontrolled PvP in the area. It didn't work in Lower, and I doubt it would work here either (though the limitations mentioned are different).

We've experimented with free PVP zones in the past, like Lower, which have then ultimately failed because players can't obey the rules.

RagingPurpleGiant

I like the idea of having PvP and brawling in the area, but in an arena like the one in gobsquat.

Angry poor people seem like the types who would love to build a pit and beat each other with things while drinking.

You can PvP and brawl anywhere in the Docks. There are only two laws; no slavery, no murder.

You just need a DM.

And there's a boxing arena in the Wastrel, in the middle of the Docks.

I personally think what the Docks need are more character concepts that work outside the Sons. That's mostly on the players, although a greater sense of all the possibilities out there might help, and more color surrounding the other gangs.

That's up to the players to create more independent things outside of the factions. What happens in turn is the DMs whine for players to join factions, then it goes back the other way. The Docks support all sorts of people and you don't need to be a member of the Sons (who suddenly hate slavery lol) for your concept to work.

Oh I agree, and that's what I'm saying. But outside a couple PCs I don't see a lot of it happening, and I find it to be a shame. The possibilities are there, people just need to grab hold.

On the different gangs, I was simply saying that there's not much info out there on them right now outside of NPC conversations. I've personally found some of those conversations to be quite intriguing, and it makes me curious to learn more.

We're currently in the process of doing forum write-ups and a full information overhaul for the website that will contain all this information in more detail. No ETA, its a long and arduous process.

As for the Sons hating slavery...they have always hated slavery. The faction is new, I can't recall a time they ever didn't hate slavery. If you're talking about the Ixpadian Army, that's an entirely different organization.
