Move the rentable stalls together

Only one ever gets used, because it's the most easily visible where most plyers hang out. You can't see the other stalls from near there. It would be good to see them all on the same level, make a proper "trading district" rather than as sometimes happens, people waiting for the current user of the "good stall" to go.

Drakill Tannan

The corridor where that particular stall is sometimes becomes a marketplace when 3 diferent PCs sit there to sell their goods regardless of the stands.

Yeah, add more stands there.

It seems we need to do a few things:

1. Enforce the use of stands
2. Get rid of or make extremely expensive the most convenient stand

yeahiknow

Why not just remove them? Enforcing their use is kind of silly and will come down to Stygians trying to enforce petty little details that they ICly probably don't even care about.

Ebok

enforcing this wont happen. you guys don't have enough time, and the pcs really couldn't be bothered. It's simply trying to be too realistic. If we had four hundred players and everyone was bustling everywhere around everywhere this would be a different story. Buts it not, and its not.

Its a fun little skirmish of character when the place starts bustling, so honestly I'd be all for moving them together to have a couple stalls spread over that visible area. I mean the only reason people setup there is because its visible. no one would give a shit if they didn't pass the stall.

Garem

Why is moving them closer not an option?

I'd just get rid of all but 2 or 3 above the Kingsman. It makes sense for merchants to want to sell stuff side by side. I certainly wouldn't want to make it more expensive. We want to entice people to use them because they add a unique venue, and flavor to the vibrance of the server.

Don't lose a good thing.

The problem with enforcing use of the stalls is that their locations are rather arbitrary and in low-traffic locations. Trying to force people to use a system in a way they don't want to will just mean that they will abandon it. All the selling will end up in the Docks, through letter, outside the gates or whatever. Anywhere but a stall where you're paying 30 gp an hour for most people to ignore you. Drakill's noticed that the positioning of one stall has created a "market area" where people prefer to trade. Better to promote that than try and sink a hub of interaction.

Clustering stalls together creates  opportunities for conflict or cooperation between sellers. People trying to undercut each other on the same goods, selling identifying services to another stall renter, ganging up on the idiot who tried to steal a suit of armor from under someone's nose. Stalls could be moved to above the pub, or even better, move them into the market area and enforce the use of stalls. That creates a separate active area to just the Kingsmans/Stall/Newbietower Triangle.

Why not put like four (4) stalls in one of the open areas of one of the new maps. Put the clay pot guy and the stargazer merchant there also (that's six) make it a line of three on either side or something and call it an open-air market. Maybe even toss in an NPC guard nearby. And then remove the stalls from the zig of course.

The wide path on the map that leads from the zig to the top of the gate is well traveled and would make a great place for this...

Just a thought.

I like!

Ebok

NPCs arent going to be in the new maps, cause, they're suppose to be npcless.

RIPnogarD

Cant the path of the NPC/s be set or centered stationary on the 'market'? There would still be full PvP on the side streets away from teh market and there could also be shady deals and salesmen found in the 'darker' areas.

They can't be expected to stay that way forever.

I am all for this, or even move all the stalls to near the fat rat quest creating a smaller bazaar.

Actually, one was fully designed around that concept. :)

High-jacking the thread a bit...
It's some kind of oxymoron to use the words "aren't" or "never" on a persistent sever and specially on EFU/A where the players are expected to make things happen and change the server.
