Part 1:

I write this story not to spread ill will towards the Starbeasts. Not to harass those who protect them. Not to anger those who support me in my actions against them. But to prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that my mission is not in vain.

There is a Starbeast that frequents this colony by the name of Hiko. He is a so called "Warlock" that used to be of the tribes of Starwood. Recently however he has been cast out and exiled from his tribe.

Why you ask? Because he protected a Human of this colony. He told me that he has made many ventures to this colony to learn of the ways of the human. That he did not wish a fellow Starbeast to kill a friend of mine by the name of Huey that many adventurers know as quite the warrior.

A Tiger meant for the count was released by curious inncident and had torn through the city. Many men and women including another Mercenary by the name of Bailey were mauled and attacked. Huey slew this beast. As a result various Starbeasts and Tribals have since given Huey much difficulty, except Hiko the Civilized.

He did not allow another to kill Huey. For such actions, he was exiled by his tribe. He let a Tiger be slain, and protected his protector.

Did he do it to gain favor? No.

Did he do it for gain? No.

He did it because it was decent.

Hiko has told me he has visited the colony on many occasions. I can only say that he has learned such traits from our presence on this isle, and that there is still hope.

He can be found around the colony in a black trenchcoat and headband. His skin still pale, His height still short, but his attitude? Far from Beastly.

Hiko the Civilized is proof, and a living testament to the actions I seek to take with the Starbeasts of this isle. They can be taught. They can be protected. They can be changed.

Their elders have refused, clinging to old traditions. I write this tale to show that if these foolish elders are removed, we will be able to have many more such as Hiko within our colony. Purchasing ale at the Kingsman, buying tailored clothes with gold instead of wearing leaves and hides.

The March of Trampled Leaves can produce more and more Hikos, More and More Civilized Starbeasts, and more and more worthy members of this colony.

He is a Success. With your support I and those who march with me against the Starbeasts can have more. Be it coin, supplies, lumber, manpower, or what ever you desire.

Learn the lesson of Hiko the Civlized. The March of trampled Leaves can save these poor creatures from their old ways. Their elders that cripple them and make them monsters. They have the capacity for Civilization. They have the capacity for more.

Offer us your aid.

Part II:

In speaking to Hiko in the Kingsman, the little man sitting across from me was at first confusing. I have spent much of my time and effort upon this isle fighting and attempting to aid his kind. His little hands clinging to the ale bottle, sniffing it, scared that it was poison.

He had many questions, as a child would, about our civilization. About our ways and means. About the way our genders worked within the colony and race as a whole.

He was not a blathering monster attempting to eat my flesh, nor was he a tribalistic savage shooting poisoned darts and chasing me with hoots and hollars. This little colonist, any other day, aside from his pale skin and curious accent I would have walked past on the Ziggurat and not looked twice.

To continue my story, He told me he was able to "Regain his honor" by his elders. He said that the actions they would have him take would have driven us to war. Not only does this prove that Hiko is civilized yet again, but that the so called "Peaceful" stargazers are moreso than many of you think them to be. He forsake his old ways, his family, and his savagery. He refused to take an act of war against us and for such may never regain his honor.

He is currently attempting to learn more from this colony and of civilization as a whole. I cannot help but imagine how much a boon to this colony it would be to have more Hiko about.

Through their work once civilized they would be able to assist in protecting the colony. They would be able to assist the economy in many aspects. They could be hired for work, they would purchase goods and supplies from our merchants.

I care not if you are Noble or Poor, Protector or Criminal. Friend or Foe to this colony. A civilized Starbeast can be as helpful to this colony as any brought through the Ziggurat.

Hiko refused to go to war to regain his honor. He has turned away from their savage ways and seeks to learn of ours.

Soon, the Ruined district of this city shall be made into haven. There other Starbeasts can be taught of civilization and trained in proper war.

Hiko the Civilized is the first of many.

He has told me his Elders wished to drive him to war, and he refused.
