I've spend about 1 month trying to get some PCs killed, or to do it myself, to no availe.

The thing is, the 4 people i hired don't reappear, and when i do it myslef, i get bored of stalking someone for 2h. It's tedious, especially when in the end you can't pvp them because no DM is on.

Any tips on how to make it better?

Don't spend too long following people or waiting for that "golden" opportunity. 9 times out of 10 it usually won't appear unless your a dedicated stalker but then you run the risk of drawing attention to yourself.

Murders and beatdowns in public are always fun however and gives people something to be afraid of/work against. Who would dare walk the streets alone, let alone in a group if their safety isn't guranteed.

I can empathize with you regarding the lack of DM but just remember that it isn't the end of the world if you don't manage to get one.

Gippy

some people that you hire will actually get the job done.

Cruzel

If you are dedicated and prepared to kill them, just go at it. Generally if you catch someone by surprise you can kill them and dash away before you come under any real harm.

Then there is a big fear effect and whatnot because some random guy just came out of nowhere and fucked someone up.

You get what you pay for.

Its best to hire someone who has a reputation for getting the job done.

Be a little more blunt about it in-game I imagine. Write an IC letter that you need someone killed, use an alias and disguise to meet with that person (or their own lackey), and it will likely get done.

I find this post rather funny since I have been one myself, and heard of numerous others, that tries to assassinate for other people and they never get contacted. If you look around the ruins litter you'll see some notices and should contact those people.

//If you are dedicated and prepared to kill them, just go at it.//

I'm sure. But the thing is i prefer to subdue and have a time to chat with my victim rather that to FD-invisiblity/PhK and run.

//You get what you pay for.//

As for hiring people, i've a problem with something entirely OOC: people will ask 1000 coins or something to get 1 guy, when they are content with 100 coins to raid a castle full of critters. Also, it's not like my PCs are rich, and spending 4000 coins just to get 4 PCs killed/beaten down is out of my league, unless i take to powergame again. The option of getting it paid/pooled by a faction really depends on your faction, too.

Maybe i'm losing patience, but then i hit timezone issues. Lately i'm playing regularly with about only 8 players logged on. Sometimes my targets don't even have the same timezone as me or the people i'm able to hire. As for letters/flyers, honestly, i'm amazed they exist: any armsman should pick them up, pretend hiring the thug, then have him hanged.

//Don't spend too long following people or waiting for that "golden" opportunity//

Actually, i'm only looking for an opportunity, not a golden 0 risk chance . I would even find it funny if my attempt failed or something. What i've done for now is wait, because if i don't, i get involved in something else (quest, rp, whatever), and then i just never can get the opportunity.

Any ways, thanks for the feedback, and any more tips are welcome.

Killing is an expensive thing K? Considering the risks and leaps of killing someone there's a reason its expensive. you'll find only the rich and financially wealthy can afford deadly contract killers. just like in RL believe it or not contract killing is a very serious and deadly business. Especially in settings with Law and Order. (People who enforce laws.) I suggest either getting the  money to hire killers or do it yourself. Ive hired hit-men on EFU with Koinus Sten and I must say it was one of the most epic experiences I Have ever had. So heres the deal murder is expensive.

Also if you want you can overthrow the government and remove armsmen removing law and Order which would in theory lower the price of killing for hire.

derfo

if it were easy or cheap to kill people that would be dumb?

BrittanyPanthas

Assasinations carry the risk of legal repercussions, while killing stuff on quests does not tend to have the same ramifications to a PC's daily life.  That's why assassins charge a hell of a lot more than adventurers raiding some castle or such.

It'll be more expensive, always.  If assasinations weren't a lucrative business, there wouldn't be anyone that would take the risk.

Paha

Also, as from experience, you will want to pay them good. I've had the joy to have my own assassins come to me and ask if I wanna pay more for them not to kill me, and even perhaps turn to their old employer and kill them instead. So yeah, pay and be happy if you can get out of it.

FleetingHeart

I recall previously a very effective assassin who would charge, and be payed regularly several -thousand- gold for a single hit.

Of course, they had a reputation and always got the job done.

prestonhunt

Zau at the end of his run could get 5k a hit.

Winston Martin

Unless you're an assassin just starting out and trying to build a reputation for yourself, many times its not worth the expense to kill someone for less than one thousand. This is mostly, because as you've gathered, stalking is a game of patience. Right time, right place, dm help if near npcs. Unless you get lucky, and especially if the job needs to happen fast, you have to take out the target with a whole team of loyal questing buddies. It can be a pain in the ass.

9lives

Choose only the most supple of lithe, buxom elves. Choose your spot carefully, I suggest long grass or a shrubbery. Bring a packed lunch.
