'lo...

Well, I'm going to -sort of- suggest that maybe more Consecration recipe scroll drops are needed.

However, at the same time, I'm not really sure how Consecration is treated, considering it doesn't really have a direct "PnP" equivilent as far as I know. From what I can gather, it just seems like "Holy Alchemy".

I was just talking to someone else who had thought about investing in Consecration, and I couldn't tell them that I'd found any Consecration recipes scrolls...

I've been playing for a little more than a month now, and I've found at least 50+ recipe scrolls (not unique, obviously), but not one of them has been for consecration.

Is this intended? Is there not supposed to be any low level recipe scrolls? Are they supposed to be more rare than Herbalism and Alchemy recipes?

Just thought I'd chime in, and get other opinions on this as well, to maybe have it looked at, in case it might just be an oversight and not intended.

I spent a lot of time on my last PC looking for recipes, and I found Herbalism the most common, then Alchemy. None for Cooking or Consecration though. I'd definitely support this, in fact I even think the kits should have 1 really basic recipe on them to get people experimenting and learning the patterns. Holy Water for the Alchemy set, some surface cooking recipes on the cooking set (the ones in the description are for the UD) etc.

Until you get the basic idea and ratios, it's just trying the thousands of randome combinations or hunches. I remember spending ages in the Underdark trying to make Alchemist Fire using Spirits as they were flammable.

Ah, quite Egon, Also no cooking recipes found, I'd like to see these around, even if they're only for flavor. I also second your idea for including one basic recipe for each set... or at the very least, have these "starter" recipes discoverable by speaking to the appropriate person who might give it to them.

I think the consecration stuff are supposed to be fairly secret. That said, I have seen recipe drops for the minor recipes in consecration before. They might have just been removed from the loot tables.

Consecration is more than just alchemy, it is blessing stuff with the power of your respective god (afaik) and is fairly tough!

If you want to pursue this maybe you should drop a line with a DM who is in the know about consecration, maybe they can hook you up. Because as far as I know, you need a DM to give you the appropriate tools before you can even get started.

Finktank

There are consecration tools for sale. I think that might be the only way anyone relatively new even knows about the concept of it at all. I myself have never found anything but the same three recipes in loot drops.

Caddies

If its true there are no consecration recipe clues added, I will disseminate some. Will need to talk with Mort first, but we'll look into it.

Is there not a better way than random scroll drops to learn these?

Could they not be obtained as a DM perk for Clerics/Holy types achieving stuff / running events etc, preaching the faith, almost like watered down DM loot?

I have been trying to do this sort of thing IG (Riddle Contests and writings in the Library), and getting hints on Consecration would be a fantastic reward (info could be as vague as the scrolls). It would also be easy for the DM's to send a message via a tell as "divine inspiration".

That would seem a better way than just getting lucky with loot drops?

SkillFocuspwn

Eh, it's easier just to put loot drops in! People can buy them, fight over them, steal them, whatever to get their divine fix. I'd much rather just wait until the +1 Full Plate of Torminess than get consecration recipes tbh <_<

EFU_Orc

no big deal, just have both
